Last Thursday, My Fiancee & I went to Flying Fish for dinner. It was spectacular. The server was very knowledgeable & super friendly (his name was Bob).

I started off with a cup of the Florida Yellow corn soup

x5xchs.jpg

We shared an appetizer plate of fried calamari w/vietnamese dipping sauce.

x5xeg3.jpg

Next up was our entrees: I had the Oak Atlantic Salmon w/potatoes (i forgot what sauce but it was very yummy)

x5xf2o.jpg

She had the Skate wing in a lemon/butter sauce w/capers. Skate is a relative of the sting ray, tastes like flounder, very tender & flaky.

Woah that Breakfast lasagna was just amazing. We've just returned and had a few CB's booked but Crystal Palace was by far the best

Here are some photos from my wedding/honeymoon trip from April 20th - May 2nd. Hope to write a review thread soon! NO matter how careful I was, half of my pictures turned out somewhat blurry. Next time I will have a new camera!!

'OHANA at the polynesian. I would have taken better pictures here but it was my rehearsal dinner and there was a lot going on. my other food pictures came out much better then these

Fried wontons and dipping sauces

appetizers:
Sweet & Sour peel n' eat shrimps & honey coriander wings behind them. The honey-coriander wings were TO DIE FOR. My dad loved the shrimp - he ate nothing but shrimp the entire night, no steak, pork, turkey, or sausage. Just shrimp!

Potatoes au gratin - Delicious!!
145431306_8222ab5be3.jpg

Waitress pouring the banana foster sauce onto the banana bread pudding - DELICIOUS!! Since I hadn't had the chance to eat much during the main course, I ate a lot of dessert to make up for it (was too busy passing out gifts and thank you cards and welcome baskets and taking pictures and recording video, etc)

Beaches n' Cream again, the next day

DH, me, sister, and brother in law eating the infamous Kitchen Sink
145432729_3086728917.jpg

145432713_a1a286f429.jpg

We took out the brownies and angel cake parts and concentrated mostly on the icecream, fruit, and whipped cream
145432580_99db1548be.jpg

About a third of the icecream melted before we had a chance to finish it, so not sure if we can claim we "finished it" or not! they should freeze the sinks before serving them, like a frosty mug

the serving bowls they gave us to share
145432666_2b56d39b2f.jpg

Everyone but me got food to go along with the icecream goodness. I concentrated on the icecream. I dieted all year long - I can eat extremely unhealthy for one week if I want to :)

145433106_fd56600eeb.jpg

They gave us this dessert for free for our honeymoon (I think it's the same one they give for birthdays) -it was really good! They came out with a few waiters and made everyone in the restaurant smack their lips and say "mwwahh. that's amore!" it was very cute!

145433395_a4b87b2a5e.jpg

DH & his friend both ordered the pork chop with mac & cheese, they both said it was one of the best pork-chops they had. Made me wish I had gotten that instead!

I love the Lady and Tramp Smoothie Mug. I didn't even know they had that. I knew about the Cinderella one at CRT. Are there any other restaurants that have the glass mugs?

Liberty Tree Tavern also has them. You can order anything in the mug, doesn't have to be a smoothie. They charge you for the drink and for the mug.

Thank you ___Disneygirl and beana :) :goodvibes

Speaking of the mugs, I think I'll share my story about my lady and the tramp mug lol.. At the end of the meal, I asked the waiter if we just took that mug that I was using or if they gave us a new one - he said we took our receipt to the cashier in the gift store and she'd give us a new one. Well the waiter forgot to charge me for the mug, and only charged me for the smoothie. But the whole point in buying a smoothie was to get the mug! So I ask the cashier, who was a sweet old lady but she was really confused about the whole thing and looked upset and stressed out about it. She said she'd have to call the manager down or something. I got the impression that she was hoping that I would say "just forget it", but darnit, I wanted my mug! So I wait ten minutes for her manager to come over, she looks over the receipt, takes it back, another ten minutes go by, and she comes back and says the waiter forgot to charge me, and asks me for the three dollars to make up the difference. She then takes my room key card and goes back to charge the three dollars to my room key card and is gone for what seemed like another ten minutes.

Well in the end I got my mug! But I kept thinking back to when I worked at Disney and how we were taught to do "guest recovery" to win back guests after a bad experience. I was thinking "for three dollars they should just give me the mug at this point - it was there fault i'm waiting this long". It had been such a perfect meal at Tony's and that kind of spoiled it a bit!

oh well, I got my mug!

Pinnochio's Village Haus in Fantasyland

DH ordered pepperoni pizza - was greasy and not that great
145433659_41d88774f5.jpg

Figaro Fries & Chicken Strips & fries - I had been so excited to try figaro fries - they were okay but I wouldn't get them again. chicken strips & fries were your typical chicken strips and fries. It was the first time i'd eaten french fries in over a year and they just tasted kind of gross to me, which I was glad about it, makes it much easier to stay off the french fries!

Aloha Isle
Friend of ours got the soft-serve pineapple dole whip
145433717_6bf0454fe5.jpg

For me and DH - nothing but the pineapple dole whip float would do! Had been looking forward to these for so long!! These are a traditional "must-do" - try to have at least one per trip
145433738_707da4653f.jpg

Almost-completely-eaten rice krispie treat - but it was delicious so I thought I would add the picture anyway!

OK the first one, just in a cup, looks DIVINE but the second one looks REVOLTING! Why would you do that to perfectly good ice cream? Solid and liquid foods should NOT be mixed like that :lmao:

The rest looks GOOD though: what's the obsession of DISers with the rice-crispy mickey mouse heads, though? Surely it's just a rice crispy cake or am I missing a trick?
