Joe&Peg, that seafood sampler looks absolutely wonderful..

We are definately going to try this....Oh, I can't hardly wait! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Boma - Our favorite restaurant on this trip!!

It might look like we ate way too much, but a lot of the food in the pictures below, we would have one bite of, decide we didn't like it, and just pushed it aside. But we still ate way too much lol. It was so worth it!! Those zebradomes were the one of two things on this trip that lived up to their hype completely!

Took my DH a little while to get adventurous - so he starts with mac & cheese and chicken strips! :rotfl2: at least he tried a zebra dome and an "expedition everest" dessert
145433907_7fc9bedfdb.jpg

I believe this was the watermelon Rind salad - but could very easily be mistaken. With a few pieces of "african bread" thrown on the side
145433924_100d2a96ce.jpg

I believe this was the "ham, cucumber, and grand salad" but might have gotten those mixed up, I can't remember! The orange stuff behind it was a little bit of a "sweet salad" that had some raisins in it, that was good, wish I could remember the names! Also the zebra-domes, an expedition everest dessert (it was okay, but I saved room for more zebra-domes!), and a DELICIOUS thing in the middle that was like a mix between a cannoli and cheese-cake, no idea what the name was
145433947_bc2cdaea23.jpg

Some spicy chicken, some "Fries with afritude" (a little too spicy for me), and pot roast with three different kinds of sauces - one that was like horseradish, one that was like bbq sauce, and one that was like honey mustard. The pot roast was really really good!
145433964_10c7d65599.jpg

We get down to business on the dessert now!
Banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce - DELICIOUS! More zebra-domes, love the texture and the taste of those, I could have eaten them one after another like popcorn!, and a kiwi-fruit tart - good but only had one
145433988_1a048236ab.jpg

in the "12 o'clock position" - moroccan cous-cous (was pretty good). The "3 o'clock position" - a falafel - was okay. The "6 o'clock position" - Peanut Rice - was good but kind of tasted like "peanut butter captain crunch" cereal!... in the "9 o'clock position" - Pap, it was okay but all the other foods were much better I thought
145434002_71ecaa0bbb.jpg

Seafood gumbo - not very good, i've had better soup out of the can
145434019_2612dfd5bf.jpg

The white stuff I think was coconut pudding, more zebra domes, a kiwi tart (for jim), more banana bread pudding
145434216_bbe8fdd3b0.jpg

African flatbread with three different types of hummus to try (white bean hummus, plain hummus, and sundried tomato hummus), 2 chocolate chip cookies that we saved for later, and one big cannoli thing we saved for later ;) In the bowl - more african breads
145434232_0e07817d4a.jpg

Okay.. room for one more plate of desserts to share.. a few more zebra domes and some more banana bread pudding

Thank you ___Disneygirl and beana :) :goodvibes

Speaking of the mugs, I think I'll share my story about my lady and the tramp mug lol.. At the end of the meal, I asked the waiter if we just took that mug that I was using or if they gave us a new one - he said we took our receipt to the cashier in the gift store and she'd give us a new one. Well the waiter forgot to charge me for the mug, and only charged me for the smoothie. But the whole point in buying a smoothie was to get the mug! So I ask the cashier, who was a sweet old lady but she was really confused about the whole thing and looked upset and stressed out about it. She said she'd have to call the manager down or something. I got the impression that she was hoping that I would say "just forget it", but darnit, I wanted my mug! So I wait ten minutes for her manager to come over, she looks over the receipt, takes it back, another ten minutes go by, and she comes back and says the waiter forgot to charge me, and asks me for the three dollars to make up the difference. She then takes my room key card and goes back to charge the three dollars to my room key card and is gone for what seemed like another ten minutes.

Well in the end I got my mug! But I kept thinking back to when I worked at Disney and how we were taught to do "guest recovery" to win back guests after a bad experience. I was thinking "for three dollars they should just give me the mug at this point - it was there fault i'm waiting this long". It had been such a perfect meal at Tony's and that kind of spoiled it a bit!

oh well, I got my mug!

We have ressies for Tony's Town Square next month and I noticed in your pix that there was no sweet n low in the container on the table. Do you remember if they had any. I only drink unsweet tea with extra lemon and only use sweet n low. Should I bring some of my own?

I've been lurking here for awhile and finally finished this thread. Seeing all these pictures has me rethinking some places to eat!!

I've asked this before but got a different answer from everybody - do zebra domes taste like coffee?

Some say coffee, some say peanut butter, some say chocolate... I know I could just wait and see, but curiousity has the better of me!

They taste like chocolate with a hint of coffee. I detected absolutely no peanut, or peanut butter, taste in them, and I did eat a lot of those suckers.

There is a distinct coffee taste to zebra domes. That is why my daughter and I don't like them.

WDW has replaced Sweet and Low with Splenda.

They do have a coffee flavor so if you don't like coffee you won't really enjoy them. I tried a couple, but didn't really enjoy them since I don't like coffee.

Like letterdavidman said, they are chocolate w/a coffee flavor. Definately doesn't taste like peanut butter.

:cool1: I love this thread and wanted to say THANKS to everyone!!! :cool1: I'll try to add some of our pics ... Hope this works :goodvibes

My mom ordered this at RFC at AK - she loved it!!!
Maine Stuffed Lobster - 1 1/2 lb. Maine lobster split, stuffed with succulent crabmeat stuffing ... The rice was brought on the side and came with the meal.

My dh loved the cheesecake - its one of his favorite desserts!

Chips & spinach & cheese dip - this was really really good, I will be getting it again next time we go!
145434401_be69eb6c7d.jpg

DH ordered the ribs - the menu said something about them being cooked in coca-cola.. I couldn't taste the coke but the bite I had was really good!
145434495_23a83e775c.jpg

I ordered the Turkey & swiss sandwhich, with some watermelon salad on the side.. didn't care for this, thought the bread was gross. Ate it without the bread and enjoyed it a little better actually
145434534_d7cc9c745c.jpg

We split the apple cobber - it was pretty good but I've had better in many other places
145434546_42240a2db3.jpg

more later :)

Yakitori house in Japan Pavilion - Epcot
"tokyo roll" sushi, which is actually pretty much like a california roll - it was good, but not very fresh. They sell sushi in the grocery stores around my house that look and taste pretty much exactly like this though.

I'm working on some research... and I don't think you are supposed to taste the Coca-Cola in the ribs. I think its only used to tenderize it.

Did you know if you put a T-Bone steak in Coca-Cola it will be dissolved (the steak) in like 2 days? And that they use Coca-Cola to clean the delivery trucks' engines?

Mary626: Omg! I about died looking at all that food!!!
