Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

I don't see it advertised anywhere right now but flights in and out of Tampa from my airport are showing 25% off, booking for the last week of August
Got this in an email this morning:
*Use promotion code BEACHBOUND from 5/9-5/11/23 for travel on select cont. U.S. flights to/from FL, HI, Puerto Rico, and int'l markets from
8/8/23-11/1/23. Blackout dates, restrictions, and exclusions apply. Seats and days limited. Discount is applied before government taxes and fees.

We did indeed save 30% on all our flights this fall!

Interesting, it was taking the discount off automatically for me last night without the promo code!

I now have 3 small flight credits to my name lol.

So a curious question I have now. I know when paying you can only have 3 payment methods (gc/cc), so does that mean for a future flight I would not be able to use all 3 credits and pay the remainder with my cc? what is the best way to combine them into a single credit if possible?

The instructions are somewhere up thread, but the gist is to use two of the three Travel Funds and as little on a CC as you can to buy a one way flight. Wait two days and cancel that flight, that will combine the two TF and the CC amount into one TF.

I sometimes end up with quite a few small credits since I constantly look for the prices to go down. I wish SWA would allow you to combine credits without buying and then cancelling flights, but so far, they haven't done that. So, I will find a cheap flight that I can buy with the credits and then change the flight to more expensive ones if I still need to use up more credits. Then I'll cancel the flight and have one credit.

How is that possible? I always buy Early Bird and at least 50% of the time I'm a B. Early Bird gets checked in at 36 hours prior.

Different cities, different time flights, nonstop vs layover, how many other people bought tickets that were checked in at 36 hours, did a lot of those people have a companion with them. A lot of factors play into how far back EBCI goes. Unless you’re on the exact same flight, there’s no way to compare EBCI vs checking your self in.

I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I have a Chase Southwest Credit Card that I would like to close as I don’t use it and don’t want to be charged the annual fee. I also have rapid rewards points that I got from them that I want to keep. Will I lose the rewards if I close my card? Thanks

No, you don't lose the points.

Wait for the annual fee and the anniversary points to hit, use the EBCI benefit if you have flights scheduled, then cancel the card. They'll refund the annual fee within 30 days, so you can use the benefits of the next card year before you cancel.

I have had status previously and never looked much but finally lost status this year because work travel is essentially shutdown still.

I know Plus Early Bird gets a higher boarding group than Wanna Get Away Early Bird. Does Plus actually get higher boarding than Wanna Getaway Early Bird as well?

Trying to decide if I want to just upgrade to business or stick with Wanna Get Away with the Early Bird.

With the BEACHBOUND code our flights went down $50 each. Is there an easy way that I can get that credit without calling, or cancelling and rebooking?

Check in priority is A list preferred, A list, Anytime fares with EB, WGA+ fares with EB, WGA fares with EB. When tickets or EB purchased determines place in those lists. A WGA+ with EB purchased 37 hours before departure will have a better boarding position than someone that bought WGA with EB on release day.
I think that the number of people getting mid B or later boarding groups with EB will go down as many of the people that had A list due to promotions falls off.

Ooh, finally got around to checking the SW code for my August/September MCO flights. My trip to MCO dropped (was $84 when I booked, then had rebooked for $54) now down to $42.25. My trip home is still $63.25 (was $104 when I booked a few weeks ago, then went down in a few days to $84, then dropped a few weeks later to 63.25)

So glad I checked our flights this week! We saved almost 5,000 points per person (5) on our MHT to MCO September trip! (I'll take those 25,000 points and a free companion any day!)

Now if they'd only release the next batch of dates so I can wrap up our December trip!

When might this strike take place?

According to the article

May 11 (Reuters) - Southwest Airlines Co (LUV.N) pilots' union said on Thursday its members had approved a strike mandate by an overwhelming majority ahead of the busy summer travel season.

The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA), which represents 10,000 pilots of the Dallas-based carrier, said 98% of its members participated in the vote and 99% voted in favor of authorizing a strike.

Southwest said the vote result will not impact its operations: "We are staffed and prepared to welcome travelers for their summer travel plans."

Let's hope they are ready if a strike occurs
