on our next trip we were thinking of having our kids portrait painted by the artist at the beach club i was wondering if anyone knows how much it will cost and if there are any kind of discounts for it.

She is WONDERFUL, isn't she??!! We actually watched her draw for a long time (as well as the artist at the GF...we like her work much better than the person at the GF).

I used to have her card, but now all I can find is the one of the girl from the GF.

I did talk to her, though. And, what I was asking about was the "top of the line" portrait. She said either she could take pics, or I could send her pics that I really liked, and she would make the picture. She said it takes 5-6 weeks to get it done, and for one child it was about $300. I think she has cheaper ones (one color) that start around $150.

I wish I could give you her name and number, but if you call the lobby of the BC, I KNOW they can get you her info.

I have some prices from the GF. Should be somewhat the same. Pastel Color (11X14) was $90/person. Charcoal black and white (11X14) was $60 per person.

Deluxe Pastel (16X20) was $140/person. Animals were $90 per animal.

Actually, I remember being shocked that she was quite a bit more than the girl at the GF. I know $300 is what she quoted me, and that is for one kid.

Several years ago, when I was there for a conference, she did a portrait of me. When I got home, I mailed her a picture of my husband and she added him in. She did a great job! I think her son works for FedEx so she was very reasonable about shipping, too. I'm sorry but I can't remember her name or prices.

We have this on our 'to do' list for this summer, but we also forget the price. Last trip we passed, having gone for the silhouette cut-outs in Frontier land instead. We love those as well.

Do you need to reserve time ahead with the artist for this, or simply book it after checking in?

We had our kids done Oct 03. The artists name was Echo. She did an excellent job. We had one each of our kids, just a head & upper chest (not full body) and she framed them. It seems like we paid $300-350 for both. If you do this, I would take some pics of your kids with the smile that you like. She had them sit but they couldn't hold their smiles that long so she would go back to the picture. It seems like it took us, at the most, 1-1/2 hours for both. She's really fast. I've just found her business card that she gave me. You could call her inadvance & set up an appt.:
