From what I understand, if I booked a Preferred location, that is automatically the AB rooms, correct?

Hello all! I have been reading the previous thread getting ready for our upcoming trip, and didn't even get a chance to comment on anything before the new thread started. So as I read over the posts here I have to say this thread is incredible! This our first time stay at POR and I normally have tons of questions and concerns and this thread really addresses them all. Those of you who take the time to answer questions and keep this thread updated do a wonderful job! Thank you!! :thumbsup2

thank you, y is it being taken down?[/QUOTE]

Andre is at POR on vacation right now. When he leaves he's taking his video feed with him. :(

Acadian and Magnolia both have river views. I find that they are not that much farther to the main building than the preferred rooms. The big difference is that you have to walk across ol man island. Thats a quick walk. Magnolia is somewhat closer than Acadian.

Thanks for the answer.

We're going on our first trip in April, I'm so excited I can barely sleep at night... And we still have 42 sleeps to go, lol! We're staying in the RR standard room... I would like to be close to the food court but also near a pool... It will be myself, DH, DD (5), and DS (3 months)... Just wondering what I should request as far as building, floor, etc... Thanks so much! Can't wait to go on our first Disney trip :)

I'm at 69!!

Still re-thinking my room. Instead of a RR gardenview, I am now thinking about getting a King room and requesting in the mansions river veiw.

Which one would you choose?

I have to go back home sometime I'm afraid. Unless anyone would like to sponsor me to stay longer....? LOL

Personally, for two adults I think I'd save a bit of money and go with the King option.

We're here now and just can't get over how lovely this resort is. We stayed here a few years ago on the AB side and had a great time. We're in the Mansions now and it's like being at a new resort:)
We had a great time at the pool yesterday though it was quite crowded. We ended up just heading back to the resort tonight after dinner so I think I will head out for a walk before bed.

We booked a royal standard room for our trip but just decided to add an extra night and no standard rooms are available. It is cheaper to add a royal garden room for one night instead of changing our entire stay to a gardenview royal room. My question is what are the chances that we can request to stay in the same builing/floor to make switching rooms easier?

I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to stay in the same room, they look for continuing bookings and try to help out where they can.
