If we are at Parterre Place, how quick is the walk to POFQ? With all this CS talk we may want to change it up and go there one afternoon.

I'm not on twitter :( . I can PM you my schedule and perhaps we can figure something out. :).

Or PM me on the DIS, that'll send me an email which my phone should pick up within an hour (maybe shorter if I change the scan times).

Here is a link to all WDW menus. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm This way you can see the menus, photos of the locations and decide which one you like better.

Personally I preferred the decor and food POR but found POFQ was less crowded when we went. We only had breakfast once at each of the CS places.

Actually I can't find the taco salad now on either this link of menu or the allears menu. However, even though I didn't see the pasta on this link, I did find it on allears menu. I did like the taco salad.

Your right I think allears.net http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm#res is more accurate. I think the taco salad may now be part of the build your own salad.

I am planning on doing my own handmade version of the in-room celebrations. A mix of the Mickey's Grand Welcome and the Big Birthday Bash. Since we are celebrating our boys birthdays, our anniversary and our first family vacation with this trip. Would POR have any restrictions I should be aware of with doing this? And I also heard it's possible to ask a CM to help do the set up but I don't know how to go about asking if this is true! I have been trying to figure out how to go about surprising my boys, and possibly let my husband distract them in the arcade or something. But my older son may start to get suspicious.

Thoughts?

I like the option better of hanging the shoe rack over the bathroom door and then using the closet for the expandable clothes hampers.

I have a shoe rack as well. What do you use the expandable hamper for? I am planning to just bring some reusable shopping bags for dirty clothes.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I really don't like most of Disneys coffee. I remember coffee makers in the room. If I bring my own ground coffee will I need to bring filters??

I believe the coffee makers take PODS, which are a lot like teabags. I have a dual coffee-maker like that at home. I'm bringing some of my own pods. The spot for the coffee is smaller than a typical coffee maker but I've torn about an inch all the way around on my coffee filters and they work okay if I want to put my own coffee in my coffee maker without use of a pod. You'll need to tamp the coffee down a little bit in the filter basket. I hope that makes sense.

I've not seen the coffee makers in person, though....so I could be totally wrong! :)

Thanks. Can I buy Starbucks in pods??

Search for them on Amazon. That's where I order mine! There are lots of them, just make sure they will fit. I've ordered the brand Bayonet and Island Adventures or something like that. I know those fit.....I believe I've seen several Starbuck's pods in there as well.

Make sure you aren't ordering K-cups. The brand of coffee maker is Cuisinart, if that helps.

I don't drink coffee but I think I read that the machines are pods now.

Here is what the coffee makers now look like. Duel pod coffee makers. You can see the pod area so any pod style coffee that would fit there should work.

I bring Starbucks Via, the pods for those machines are too hard to find. Also, I won't brew the Florida tap water, I buy a case of bottled water and use that. The Florida tap water tastes like it came unfiltered from a sewer, and that effects the taste of the coffee quite a bit.

We just returned from POR Sunday morning after a week stay. Would like to share my thoughts and happy to answer any questions while it's all still fresh.

First of all thanks to Andre and all the wonderful Disers with recommendations and information about this incredible resort. Without that help I believe we would not have had nearly as much fun as we did.

Rooms - I faxed a request using a great template Venom posted 4 days prior to our check in day. We were given room 1415 in AB, first floor, facing the Riverside Mill with a river view (upgrade). I was pretty pumped when she told me where we would be. The rooms were much larger than I had anticipated. We're DVC members so we are usually in one and two bedroom villas so we were all a little worried, but the room was great. There's a ton of room in the sink, bathroom, closet area. I was surprised at how large this area was. We brought a bunch of hangers and the space above the hanging area was very large.

The trundle bed was awesome. My 5' 1" daughter slept there almost every night and loved it. Even my two boys one 5' 6" and the other 5' 5" each slept on it a night and thought it was great. We took it off the trundle one night and it fit perfectly between the two beds. I even took a little nap on it one afternoon. It really is a nice bed.

We did fine with all the storage of our stuff. We did put the suitcases back in the car along with the cooler, but we would have managed fine if we would have left them in the room.

Riverside Mill - Can't say enough how much we enjoyed this. Great selections and something different every night (if we wanted). We all became huge fans of the pasta bar. The portions were huge and after the second day we started to split the meal and then got breadsticks or some other treat. The individual pizza were not as good. What's happended to the mini pizzas at WDW? They used to be so good. Now they are all crust and somewhat cardboard tasting. No biggie as we just tried different things after that. My daughter was a huge fan of the carving station and we all enjoyed the bakery:) We didn't have one breakfast at the Mill but the food always looked great when I went to get my mug filled with coffee. Love the refillable mugs and being so close made them even better.

Pools - Didn't get into the quiet pools but were by them a couple times doing laundry. Very nice areas and pretty good sized pools. The kids really enjoyed Ole Man Island. The slide was fun and the pool was big. It was really crowded but we expected that being early August. They played games and had music going every day which made the whole area very festive.

Mouskeeping - Did a great job for us. We tipped $5 every day and the rooms were always very clean and plenty of towels were in the rooms. We only got a couple towel surprises, but that was no big deal, just happy they did a very thorough job of cleaning the rooms.

The rest - Kids enjoyed some time in the arcade. Very big with a great selection of games to play. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use the marina for sea racers, kayaks, or the ferry to DTD. There's just not enough hours in the day:) We also didn't get to see Yee Haw Bob which was a bummer because I had read and heard so many fun things about him. Maybe next time. Transportation to and from the parks via the buses was great. We probably got lucky more than anything but we rarely waited long if at all for buses. You do much more standing on buses because of the size of the resort than we're used to, but it got us to where we needed to go!!!

Overall we had a great time at POR. The kids still voted for OKW over POR, but they loved the resort. We had a great time and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who has a family of 5 looking for a fun place to stay!!!
