Bummer. Maybe we'll do the barber shop thing and buy her a dress at the Emporium then. I wanted to do the big package including the photos. Now I'm sad, what's the point in having your kid turn 16 at Disney if you can't embarrass the heck out of her?

check out Disney Floral & Gifts. Lots of cool stuff for birthdays and "princesses"

I used them to get the "Proclaim Her A Princess" package for my 5 yr old

I'm not asking if I can use the military discount and free dining or a pin and free dining, I'm asking if I can purchase Stars and Stripes tickets and get the free dining plan.

As the PP posted stated (the exact one you quoted), you have to purchase tickets through Disney as part of a package to get free dining. You must purchase a minimum two-day ticket for free dining. With free dining, you are also paying full rack rate for the room. You have to run the numbers to see which discount comes out better for you.

You can save the tickets for a future trip and upgrade them after the first time of use.

Actually, the exact one I quoted mentioned pins, not tickets, and did not answer the question that I asked at all.

I know that I cannot get the room discount. There are exceptions for military personnel on certain things, what I'm asking is, is there an exception for the free dining plan and Stars and Stripes tickets. I appreciate your response, you actually answered my question, but are you certain that there are no exceptions for military personnel as there are for getting the dining plan in the first place? Thank you.

That is terrific! I'm not sure if it's in my price range but I do have a year to save for this trip so it could happen. Thanks so much for the awesome ideas!

The Military Salute tickets are separate from the Stars and Stripes tickets(which are only sold at Shades of Green, and offer a decent discount, but not as great as the $138 Military Salute deal).
You cannot get free dining with the Military Room discount. They will not allow you to stack discounts, so you'd have to choose whether you want the Free Dining(paying full price for the room and buying the required tickets from Disney at the going rate--no discount). Run the numbers on both packages and see which one saves you money.

The discount for Moderates is not 40%, but 35%. Just FYI. That's what I gor--POR. Still a wonderful deal and I hope they continue offering the Military Salute!

ETA: I forgot to add that you can take the tickets that you must buy with Free Dining, and apply them to the cost of Militay Salute tickets. IF they are offered at that time. And IF the cost of the required ticket purchase for Free Dining (isn't it 2 days? I don't do Free Dining, so not sure) doesn't exceed the cost of the Military tickets(currently $138). Very much a we'll have to wait and see situation.

Yes, that is correct. You must buy a minimum 2 day MYW base ticket for free dining and one day ticket for regular dining.

That is the only ticket that you can use against free dining.

Hopefully that will put this to rest.

I know that you cannot stack discounts, again, that is not what I am asking. I purchased my park tickets from ITR, so I'm aware of the discounts, again, not what I was asking. I will wait until the package prices are released for next year and call for this information. Thanks for trying.

I received 40% at CBR, just returned home on Monday. That may have been because I made my reservations from Afghanistan, but it is possible to receive 40% at a moderate.

Military are not required to purchase park tickets in order to purchase the dining plan, actually. In fact, you can't purchase park tickets and get the military room rate + dining, you have to purchase your park tickets from ITR.

They've done the Stars and Stripes tickets for several years, why would they stop now?

Also, I didn't say anything about a pin, we did not have a pin, we used the military discount (which was 40% on the moderate), bought Stars and Stripes tickets and had the dining plan. I'm not asking if I can use the military discount and free dining or a pin and free dining, I'm asking if I can purchase Stars and Stripes tickets and get the free dining plan.

I'm not talking Stars and Stripes. I'm talking Military Salute tickets which are 4 Day Park Hoppers for $129. Stars and Stripes may be available but why would anyone use those? And no, you can't use Stars and Stripes and get free dining. In order to get free dining you have to purchase a Magic Your Way package with full priced tickets.

And it's 35% off a mod, check the WDW website. I've been 4 times in the last two years using the military discount.

If you book a room with a military discount you can add dining at full cost to your reservation, making your room only reservation a package. I've done it 4 trips in a row now.

I have 6 nights booked at POR, Riverview, with deluxe dining for 2 adults, one child. My package came out to just over $2000, no tickets included.

Was on the DW website and noticed there is no mention of trundle bed for the Garden View at POR, which is what we have booked for my family of 5. ??

To get the trundle or murphy (depending on weather refurb or not) you must book AB. If you are booked as a family of 5 then you will get AB with one or the other T or M.

Oh geesh!!! I missed a call from a Disney World reservation person today and when I tried to call back she was gone for the day!! Dying to know what she wants!!!
I had sent an email expressing my frustration over the full/queen bed situation, since we did book a garden view room that stated queen beds, and I received an email reply similar to what I was told when I called.....queen beds are a request only...blah blah blah. I made peace with the fact that we may have full sized beds and let it go. NOW I get a message and she says she would like to discuss the email I sent.
Wonder what she is going to say??????

I would call back and see if there is someone else who can discuss with you about the email.
