We paid our trip in full on Monday and made a second reservation... wonder if they will upgrade the 1 night reservation too or if we will be stuck for the difference? But we have not received a phone call yet so being paid up seems to make no difference. It seems like the are still on Feb. check in dates? Ours is March 3..... I enjoy hearing everyone's pixie dust stories.. these upgrades are a once in a lifetime rare opportunity, except for the PP that mentioned it happened to them with the pirate rooms.

Has anyone asked for a Grand Floridian upgrade? That would be a dream come true for DH and I because we could never afford to stay there...second choice would be WL (we love it) or Beach Club.

My check in date is March 3 for a Royal Guest Room Garden View. I have not received a call yet...Trying to decide which resort to pick if and when I do get the call...Any suggestions???

My AAA agent said that she called Disney this morning and that they told her that the royal rooms were completed in December? Can anyone confirm this for me.......dont know what to believe know.

That is definitely not correct, there has been a lot of refurb work done, but the royal rooms didn't start work til January 15th I believe. So they aaa agent spoke to someone that was poorly informed. Have the AAA agent call the resort at 407-934-6000 ask for someone in management. Then explain what you have heard. Tell the agent to relay your info the manager to give to the team that is following up on this problem and it should stir up the hornet nest for you.

Is it possible for me to call someone myself? UGGHH now I wish I had booked directly with Disney!!!!

We were scheduled for a standard view royal room does that make a difference?

Then you would get a garden view at a deluxe resort. The only way to get TPV is if you had river view at POR RGR.

That is perfectly fine. So we know for sure that the rooms are not completed. I am sorry. My agent is on the phone with Disney now. Trying to get more information. Hopefully I get "better" news this time. So funny, I was all excited about the royal rooms and now the chance of an upgrade and I am freaking out!! LOL!

Just as an update for everyone, the resort CMs at Port Orleans are NOT handling the outgoing calls to guests affected by the RGR delay directly themselves. There is a small team at the Disney Reservations Center who are going through every reservation and contacting the guests directly. This info came directly from a manager at the resort.

Obviously this process will take time, and I'd assume they are probably starting with the earliest reservations and going forward from there. If you are concerned that you have not been contacted after a few days, I would suggest calling the Disney Reservations Center on 1-407-WDISNEY (not the resort directly) and ask to speak to someone on the team handling this situation.

I do not know whether there are any hard-and-fast rules regarding what alternative accommodations may be offered, nor if there is an automatic "water-view for water-view" matching policy in place. Personally, I would think it's more likely that each case will be dealt with individually to try to keep guests happy, within overall guidelines laid down by the department.

Thank you all for the information!!! My agent called back and spoke with someone at the resort and WE ARE CORRECT, the rooms are not available until March 9th. She said that should would however have to wait for a call from the team before she could change my reservation. I gave her some ideas as to what grateful to recieve when they called. Thanks everyone for the help!!

My parents are going to be so excited!! This is their first trip to disney ever and we are getting upgraded!

I just got off the phone with my contact there at the POR, and they stated that they are working on it so rest assured they will get to you. They do have people undercover that visit the forums here and are well aware of the people still needing calls. So don't worry.

Can I ask when your trip dates are? Just curious how far down the list they have gotten. We haven't gotten any calls yet and it's killing me. I even tried to call reservations, since I booked with Disney directly, and they didn't even know what a royal room was, so no help there.

Check in on 20 Feb. Check out on 25 Feb.

If you are not sure what to do just ask for the royal room in Cinderella Castle.

LOL... good idea though my DD seems to think she is already staying there! She thinks Tiana's room is in the castle.

My sister had a good idea about breaking the news to the kids. She said that Princess Tiana needed her room while we were there but she picked out a very special room just for us (maybe I will create a letter to have with us when we go).

As far as what resort to pick there are so many to choose from... Would you kids enjoy the animals (Animal Kingdom)? Like a sand bottom pool and near Epcot (Beach Club), being on the monorail line (Poly, GF, CR)? Good luck in whatever you get.

I sent an email to my AAA agent tonight telling her what I had learned. What options did they give you when you called? Where are you staying now?

We were booked for a preferred room at POR, RGR’s and the options that were given to my TA were Garden View Poly or Beach Club (not sure what view but assume Garden View). We chose Poly since the main attraction to me for Beach Club is the pool and weather is questionable when we will be there. Also, we stayed at Poly when I was little and it’s been a dream of ours. Best of luck.

I'm thinking about booking this resort and I was wondering what location is closer to the main building or bus stop? We stayed at the All star Movies last time and was all the way in the back of the resort and that was a long walk with two kids at the end of the day.

I know the discussion has switched to the Royal Room upgrades, but can anyone tell me where the gazebo in the mansion section is located?

Can anyone tell me where I can find a schedule of the reburbed rooms in Alligator Bayou for September 2012? We are a family of five and liked our building 17 but I know it hasn't been refurbed yet....and wondering when it will be.
