I'm glad you all got some pixie dust with your upgrades :cheer2: Now I wish I could jsut figure out which building I want for my trip and get a PIN code to boot!

I agree! I am so glad that this information was posted so that we were ready!! Going to be a great vacation!!

I figured it out - go to the Quick Links tab and then click on edit signature. Can't wait to see it!
I didn't request a certain building - should I have?? Any suggestions? We do have a lagoon view.

Yes indeed, we were thrilled also to hear, it will definitely be a vacation to remember.

Anyone else get one of these yet? This is the first I heard of pool maintenance. Click to see a larger version.

Congrats. We stayed at Poly upgraded in 09 when our pirate room was not ready in time. Loved it. Was looking forward to royal room but now scrambling so I'm ready with choices when we get call.

Well then your going to be in Hawaiian Building, or maybe Fiji, or even the Tahiti building then.

Yeah I didn't want people to start panicking, They will be calling all of them and sorting this out. I am saddened by the fact that are little one was so thrilled and geared up to see the royal room, but now we will be heading to the poly as well. I will continue to post here as well as the poly thread.

I feel your pain about a possible letdown for the little one. On the bright side... you're going to the POLY!!! DW and I stayed there (without the kids) a couple years ago and it was simply fantastic each and every moment. I would love to go there again but I can't justify adding $1400 to my room budget. I love to blow money, but that's out of my ballpark. Now if I were to get offered a free upgrade... Hey. maybe they'll throw a little pixie dust my way in April.

Ugh, now I'm panicking and terribly upset. We love the look of the POR and had booked a royal room from 3/8 to 3/15. Do you think it's likely we'll be offered some type of upgrade (in which case I need to start researching the other resorts) or do you think they'll offer to put us in a different room at POR for the 8th and have us move into a royal room on the 9th since we're missing the room being ready by only one night?

I realize any answers are just speculation, but would love some thoughts. This is our first trip to WDW, so I'm a bit stressed out now.

The bottom line is that Disney will listen to you and do their best to handle it however you wish. My guess is that their first suggestion will be to offer you an upgrade to a deluxe resort.

I can confirm this.

I just got my call and was explained the situation and was ready. She gave me my choice of deluxes and I picked Poly and SCORE. Woo-hoo!

Thanks again!

Congrats! :cool1:

This is the first I heard of pool maintenance.

From www.portorleans.org/news.php:

28-Dec-11: The Doubloon Lagoon feature swimming pool at Port Orleans French Quarter will be closed for maintenance work on Tuesday 17 January and Wednesday 18 January, reopening on Thursday 19 January 2012. The spa/hot tub should remain open during this time.

The Ol' Man Island feature swimming pool at Port Orleans Riverside will be closed for maintenance work from Monday 6 February to Wednesday 8 February, reopening on Thursday 9 February 2012.

All of the other pools at the resort will remain open for guests during these closures.

Venom: Theme Park View – awesome. The CM my TA talked to only gave her Standard View for us. I’m still just as excited, but Theme Park View is the cherry on top. Congrats! I wonder if it had to do with what room you were booked at POR – were you water view? We weren’t water, but preferred, I think. Maybe that is what made the difference between “views” offered up at Poly.

For the other poster you asked – the CM only gave us the option of Poly or Beach Club yesterday.

I had a river view, RGR reserved. So Maybe that is what it was. You still can ask and sometimes they do take you up a level like lagoon, view.

Could very well be. I was in a standard view RGR and was upgraded to Poly Garden View.

Hmmm, somehow my request I just put in for buildings 36 or 38 doesn't seem as exciting as it did a few minutes ago. Oh well. Congradulations to all of you getting amazing upgrades! I think I'd go for Savannah view at AKL :)
