Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Room Request Fax Thread

Our first stay at POR is coming up quickly! Check in April 11th and out Apr 14th. I am going to fax our room request 3-5 day before our arrival. It's just my wife and I and i'm thinking of keeping the request simple. We have a King Bed booked and I'm going to request 1) non-parking lot view 2) non-connecting room and 3) highest floor. We don't mind being further from the food court/check-in but I'm debating on requesting AB or just seeing what we get. Any other suggestions?

We check in in 15 days to POFQ. I have a standard room book. I definitely want a first floor room. Can anyone recommend any other requests I should consider making? I have never been to the resort, so I am clueless. Thanks!

Contemplating sending a FAX based on what we're going to have to do with our stay.

Because we're half on the Spring discount and want to do half on the summer discount, we can't stay in our room as it's not an option. We can upgrade to a Royal room and save $118 for the second half of the stay though. I just don't know if it would be expecting way too much to request us to be in the royal room the entire stay so we didn't have to move...and to be in a royal room close-ish to the check in and food court as we'll most likely get in past midnight and would prefer not lugging everything around the resort trying to find our way in the dark.

We arrive on a Tues and my parents(the grandparents) arrive a few days later on Friday. We have different views booked at POFQ due to what was available when we booked. We are in a standard view and they have river view booked. We DO NOT want building 1 or 7. My parents do not want to be near the boat dock due to noise. I am thinking of sending in a fax explaining that we'd like to be somewhat near each other but same building is NOT necessary with a request for standard view in building 4 for us and river view in building 6 for them. Is this reasonable? I would think this would cover our wishes and I haven't asked for more than what we've paid for. I am assuming building 5 is out due to proximity to boat launch.

Venom, which standard room# would you recommend in Bldg 4? I did online check in and requested ground floor and closest to transportation. I'm thinking that I should fax a request specifically to building 4?

I sent our fax Friday! :cloud9: Haven't heard anything, but that's fine. I just requested corner room and close to transportation. (We paid for a garden view- only because standard wasn't available.

When we stayed in oct. We requested mansion second floor. Got ab first floor. 0 requests were met. They said cause they were busy. On another thread someone said if not booking a royal room you only have a 40% chance of getting a mansion bulding cause of the number of rooms compared to ab. So just remember a request is just that, most are met (always met in the past for us) there may be a time when they are not so be prepared. We were not and were really upset. Now we can prepare ourselves for future requests.

It would be nice to get a corner room near transportation (we are going to be spending some time over at ESPN Sports Zone to watch Cheer Worlds) so we can get in and out quickly. However, we are just SOOOO thrilled to be back that it won't matter! :) Plus, since it is just the two of us, it will be easier to get around quickly, instead of having to wait for all 5 of us to be ready all the time.

How far in advance would you recommend faxing your request?

We are going Sept. 13 - 18th and would love a room in either building 15 or Magnolia and on the first floor.

We have two rooms booked with bounce back at por. The only room category available was garden view. We don't want to be an hours walk for food court. What would be the best request to put in? We really wanted to book preferred but there were no rooms available.

Best to simply request to be close to the food court, if that's all that you want. You could add an explanation of why, if there is a special reason.

And it wouldn't hurt to mention that you'd be willing to pay for a preferred room if one were to become available.

Question - I'm doing a split stay at POR and CSR. Would I have to send my fax for CSR 3-5 days from that arrival (aka during the POR stay?) I know they'll have a fax there (to receive fax requests) but unsure if they let guests use one. I think someone talked about a website that allows you to send faxes online?

If you're there, why not pop over and ask in person if you can speak to someone from the resort's room assignment team? Or as you say, you can use an online fax service. Or just send it before you go, any dates are just guidelines anyway, hopefully they'd keep faxes on file until it comes time to deal with them.

Our schedule is pretty packed and we won't have a car, so trying to avoid cab fares when not necessary - but I'll try e-mail/faxing the night before for CSR. Thanks!

Sent a fax off to POR 5 days ago - arriving tomorrow night. No fax returned, but I hope it works! Will send the CSR one tomorrow!

Let me know how lucky you were at CSR. Sadly, we have never gotten any room request there, but have never faxed anything to them either.
