Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Room Request Fax Thread

If I've booked a Royal Room River View for a June 29 - July 5 stay is there any point in attempting to go a step further and request a specific building? We'd really like to be in Parterre in order to be closest to POFQ. We have friends that are staying there around the same time and are planning on dropping by to visit every morning for breakfast at the POFQ food court.

Just an FYI (and you may already know this), you can't walk to POFQ from the Parterre side of the river. You have to walk back toward POR, cross the bridge, then walk to POFQ.

Yes you can. The road bridge that crosses the river between POR and POFQ has a footpath beside it (also used by Surrey Bikes).

Hi, I need some help. We are staying at POFQ River view next month. I want to request a room in section 2 or 5, I think? Those are closest to the Food court area? I know, small resort, but my son is a special needs adult, and closer is better. He uses a WC in the parks, but sometimes I leave it in the car.

I feel silly, because the room maps confused me until I realized they were shown different floors, DUH. Funny to me now. So, upper floor, buildings 2 or 5, is that a good request? A nice view would be a bonus, has anyone stayed in a River view room that can give me a tip?

Thanks all! I am so excited, I have not stayed at POFQ in well over 10 years.

Did you mean to start a new thread? ^^ This doesn't seem to have anything to do with Port Orleans?

But I'd go with Option 1 - enjoy a full night's sleep before the park.

Oops- We are staying at PORFQ, so I've been on this thread a lot lately and just automatically posted here. I'm sorry.

AH, I saw Caribbean Beach and was like - ????

Are you renting a car to get to CBR for the tickets? I heard there's no direct way to get from resort to resort otherwise unless you take a cab or uber.

If you're driving, you can go straight to CBR to get your tickets and then go to the parks. If you're relying on Magical Express, you'll probably need about an hour before you're at your hotel and checked in - so you probably won't get to the parks until late morning/early afternoon.

That said, leaving at night will mean you won't check into your hotel until after 12am. Would Disney technically consider this early check in for Friday? (I doubt it, but worth a shot at saving $150)

No, we're not renting a car. We are using Magical Express. I figured we would have to either go to DTD or one of the parks and then over to CBR. However, a cab is a fabulous idea. We could take one from POFQ to CBR and then MK. If we were at CBR in line prior to 8:30 to get our tickets and then took the cab to MK, we might be really close to 9am. It would be great if Disney would consider that early check-in! But, I'm not seeing that happen! LOL

Thanks for helping me think that through.

As long as you've had your magic bands mailed to you, and have done online checkin, the new direct to room checkin facility should allow any tickets on your bands to be actvated before you even get to the resort. Magical Express will only take you to your hotel though, not to a park.

That's my problem - we have to pick up our tickets at Caribbean Beach Resort- we got them through Cheer Worlds. So, even though we are staying there, we have to stop at CBR to get our park hoppers and then can link them to our bands.

Why can't you get your vouchers now, and link them to your MDE account, which will mean the tickets are available on your magic bands? If you don't do that, you won't be able to book FastPass+ in advance.

Andre

I can't get them because the Cheer Worlds company says there is no way to do that. I only have a confirmation number- not one that will link. They said I have to wait to pick up the voucher until I'm there. I wish I had known that before I bought them. :( I bought through them because it included admission to the competition venue.

I assume you've tried Disney's tech support dept to see if they can suggest a way to link them, as going to WDW without FP+ these days would be a bit annoying.

Do most people hear back when they send a fax before they arrive? I sent mine on Monday, we arrive tomorrow, and I haven't heard anything. I assume this is normal as they are likely very busy, but just wanted to confirm. My "day before trip anxiety" is kicking in. Lol.

Most do not, some do.

I didn't but got every request we made for POFQ - building, connecting rooms, higher floor.

We are heading down at the end of May for our first POFQ stay! I have a River View room booked and have some questions . . .
Should I try to request a building away from the boat launch? Is it super loud?
I have always done online check-in for POP, but I don't want to miss any details/fun info if I bypass regular check-in since we've never been there.
Thanks for your help!
