Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Room Request Fax Thread

Sorry everyone. Been Dealing with Family Emergency, but back now.

Sorry to hear that hope everything is ok.

I've not been here much, but we will be back at the end of Feb for a pre-DCL trip. Staying at POFQ this time. Just booked a standard. Know nothing about where to choose, but will likely send a fax just requesting closest to POR, 2nd floor. Good enough?

Just wanted to report a success with a room request fax.

We stayed at CBR 11/14-11/19. The night of 11/14 was room only, with a continuing reservation for 11/15-11/19 which was a free dining package. Using the template and fax number in this thread, I sent my fax request on Monday 11/10 for our Friday 11/14 check-in. We had a king room booked and requested Jamaica 46 or Aruba 52 (we knew Jamaica 45 did not have King beds) and we requested that we stay in the same room for the duration of our trip. We arrived around 6pm on 11/14, and got a nice first floor corner room (two windows) in Jamaica 46 and were told at check-in that we had the same room for the whole stay, and we just needed to call the next morning to have them check us into our next reservation. Worked out perfectly! FWIW, I also had these same requests noted on our reservation by calling.

Quick question: I may it may not need a wheel chair when I get down to the hotel later this month (my back is going up and down), and I might need a wheelchair while I'm there. Can the wheelchairs in the hotels be utilized all throughout the resort? And if I'm going to ask for one, should I include that on my fax, or just talk to the hotel front desk when I get there?

Faxed in our request yesterday for POR. Really hoping for a room in Magnolia Bend area (have reserved a King room). We have had a difficult last year and 1/2 with husbands back fusion surgery and two deaths of grandparents that I cared for. All this has put a strain on our marriage and I'm thinking the romantic feel of the mansions will help put that spark back in our lives. The photos are amazing and I can't wait to experience POR! We arrive Saturday and it can't come fast enough!!!

The wheelchairs at the resorts can not be reserved. You can get one at check in if available.

The Saturday would be perfect, I'd suggest sending it first thing in the morning.

With all the holidays days, it might be an idea to send it a day or two before Xmas to allow for days off.

Ok, so I guess I was excited to share with you all about our upcoming stay at POFQ that I posted this in the wrong thread . I thought this was the POR/POFQ Resort thread. Please excuse my ignorance and proceed with the original thread .

How do you request a certain building within bldg 4? What I mean is that on the map I see 3 buildings under the heading 4. We want to request the building closest to the Food Court. Does it have a name or do I just say "building 4 closest to the Food Court" ?

Just say "closest to the food court", that's the easiest way, and you could use a range of room numbers as an example. But make sure you let them know what you are looking for, rather than being too specific in terms of the actual location (e.g. they might have a perfect room for you at the end of building 5 which might suit you better than a most distant room in building 4).

I hope that things are going well for you after your stroke. My DH had a pretty serious stroke on November 8th, ten days after having surgery. He is doing well now after PT and much determination. Thank you for all of your help with our vacation planning. Best wishes and have a healthy Happy
