If you have requested a certain building, have you ever NOT gotten it? We requested building 4 for our trip (10 more days!). That, and a corner room, were my only requests.

As a matter of fact, my request for our April 30th-May 8th trip last month was building four, ground floor. We got building two, ground floor. I have requested building 4 three times in the past and gotten it each time though. The CM last month said building 4 is their most requested building and he couldn't move us. However, he assured us we had a really good room in building 2. He was so right. We round up liking building 2, more than any of the rooms we've ever had in building 4. We were right across from the fountain on the back side, but right around the corner from the pool, about 2 minutes to the boat, and maybe three minutes from the main building. It was right in the center of everything. As much as I've always loved building four, building two will be my request from now on.

If our package includes a "WDW MARINA OFFER VOUCHER" can this be used for the Sea Raycers at the resort?

Just booked POFQ for our anniversary trip next September. So excited, it will be our first time in anything but a value. So glad for the queen beds. Hoping they have free dining again. If they don't we may have to switch to a value.

Sept 2011 has free dining ,or are you talking about 2012 ? I also am glad they have queen beds whooohoooo !

Which has the better food court POFQ or POR ? Just wondering because we are staying at POFQ and thought maybe we may go to POR if it was better ? Another question what is the fastest way from POFQ to POR ? Is there a boat that goes from one to the other , that may be fun. ?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. We are going in 2012. So hoping for free dining for next year. I don't even care if I have to pay the $100 for the photopass CD, I will do it.
I love the new purple bedspreads, they look really sharp with the gold in them. I have to say though that I am disappointed that they took out the pedistal sinks, I thought those looked awesome for that room. Although I can see how those may not have enough storage space.

Where did you find the photos of the newly refurbished rooms ? I have been looking but havent found it.

Are there standard rooms in building 2? It looks like a great location! I would consider requesting it however we have booked a standard room. TIA! :goodvibes

I just checked in online (yay - 10 days!) and I wanted to make a request for building 6, top floor. The only options it gave me were 1) ground floor 2) pack n play 3) fridge and 4) close to food court.

Since I don't want any of this, I didn't check any of those boxes. How do I request building 6 top floor?! Is there a separate email address?

You need to have that information on your reservation by calling the main reservation number. I am not sure how far in advance this has to be done so it may already be too late, but it wouldn't hurt to try. If they can not take it at this time, you can check on your location when you get to the resort.

They do room assignments at about 5 days out, just call CRO and add your request, it's not too late! Of course you know that room and building requests are not guaranteed.

Call WDW Travel or your Travel Agent and have your request attached to your reservation.

had requested building 4. called CRO at least 5 times before the trip making sure it was on the ressie.

Ended up in building 1 with a river view for a free upgrade. I know it was a great upgrade and saved a ton of money, but I would have liked to be in building 4.

The extra view options at POFQ are as follows (2012 daily upgrade rates, the 2011 prices are a couple of dollars lower):

Garden View: +$11 (only available from Jan 2012 onwards)
King Bed: +$28
Water View: +$28
River View: +$34

Andre

The TA booked us a river view since at the time of booking for Sept 2011 our choice was standard view or river view.

sigh,,,,,

We just got back last night from 8 utterly fantastic nights at POFQ, we were in 4340 and I have nothing even remotely bad to say about the resort. Our room was a two minute walk to the bus stops, food court, and the pool. We went in 2008 and stayed at POP and nothing against it but POFQ is at such a different level of resort. So peaceful, quiet, beautiful, the total package.

Just a few notes

Beds were fantastic, never woke up sore
buses were great, had one 15-20 wait from AK back to POFQ
Clothes dryers actually dried the clothes :)
Pina Calava = $70 bar tab :)

and most important to us and it's a 2 part

boats from DTD will shut down at the first sighting of lightning(happened to us twice, storms came out of no where). second relating to the first - from DTD buses go to POR first :(

If anyone has questions, I'll try to answer.

So glad you had a great time Tick221 :goodvibes I can't wait for our September/October trip this year. We stayed at POFQ last year and fell in love with the resort. Completely messed up our Poly plans for the next trip, because as I said, we're going back. I think we have found our home resort. :thumbsup2

I can't imagine us staying anywhere else, we've looked around the other resorts and nothing is even close to FQ in our eyes.

Yes, I booked a standard room too. One side of building 2 faces the pool, but the other side faces a pretty courtyard with a fountain in the middle. We were directly across from the fountain, in room 2114. Again it was a perfect location. At first I was disappointed that we couldn't get in building 4, but as soon as I saw the location of our standard room in building 2 I fell in love with it. I loved being so close to the boat dock and main pool, plus we were also close to the main building.
