Didn't know if I should post this on the cruise site or DVC site, so I'll try here. We're driving down to VB in June for two nights before we hit OKW. We are spending the night in Jacksonville, FL, so we thought we might drive by the Disney Port either on our way to VB or from VB to WDW. We are going on the Disney Cruise in November and we just wanted to see it before we cruise. How far is the port from VB? Will we be able to look around if we're not getting on the boat?

I can't tell you whether or not they let you look around. It would probably be a little over an hour from the Port to Vero (since you'll be traveling on Route 1 or A1A) rather than on I-95. It will make your trip a little more interesting than just straight highway driving.

Deb,

We stayed at Vero the night before our first cruise. You can take either A1A or I95. We opted for I95 which is about a 45 minute drive to the port. A1A will be more scenic but will take you quite a bit longer as it has more stoplights, etc.

Have a great trip!

Either way it will take 45 mins. to an hour to go from Vero to Port Canv. I would recommend taking A1A because you can see more than just road. When you go thru Cocoa Beach stop at Ron Jon's surf shop it is very interesting. You can drive up to the Disney dock but if the ship is not in port I don't know if the main DCL terminal will be open, but you can al least see where it is and how to get there. You can drive around the port because they do have parking areas you can stop and look at the ships.:bounce: :jester:

If you are driving from Jacksonville to Vero, stop by the Port on your way down. You're on I-95 anyway. From Vero to Disney it's much sorter to take Hwy 60 from Vero to the FL. Turnike then Osceola Pkwy directly to Disney.

After our cruise we decided to visit VB before our afternoon flight. We took A1A and it took an hour and a half to drive. We came back via I-95 and it took about 45 minutes. A1A is definitely more scenic.
