The shortest walks from Royal Rooms are the river facing rooms in the northern wing of Parterre Place. However the longest RR walks are from the other end of Parterre Place. So don't request a specific building, but rather request what you want. To get the best overall guarantee though, you could book Royal Room Pool View which gets you some great locations at the southern end of Oak Manor or two rooms at the northern end of Parterre.

I'm partial to Parterre Place. It's really not that much farther unless you are on the far side of the building going towards POFQ. The distance from the middle of Parterre is about the same distance from the middle of Oak to the bridge to the main building, food court, and main pool. I preferred walking through Parterre's courtyard, past the fountain, and along the river to the bridge, the setting is so much prettier than Oak.

We did that and had a perfect room on the southern end of Oak manor really close to the foot bridge. It was also super convenient to the quiet pool and the laundry. We LOVED our RR room location. Pool view is the best to book, with river view second best. River view rooms can be a bit further from the foot bridge, though, so I would spring for the extra $ for pool view.

Thanks all for your responses. Funny thing was I went online today and out of nowhere, the preferred room that I originally was hoping to book was now available. I have no idea how. Anyway, I booked the preferred. Now after hearing about how much you guys love the Royal rooms, I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake
