POP's latest&greatest Frig Swap (still have openings)

I am having trouble with PM, but am trying to use Dizneydaz's fridge from 1/21/08 to 1/27/08. When I try to PM it tells me the count is too low. I have no idea what I am doing.

You have to have a certain number of posts before you can use the pm. Just go on the boards and post on other threads of intrest and build up your posts. I think you only need about 10 to use the pm, but Im not positive.

Yes, like blessedby3 said you need a few more posts to send me a PM. However, like I posted on previous page, our fridge is currently MIA and I have a few PMs out there that I'm waiting to hear back on. With the holiday, it's taking longer than normal to hear back. Also, I have a previous request for 1/23 to 1/26 from another thread I posted about the vacancy.

So as of now, as it stands, our swap is on hold until I hear some good news. If the fridge does turn up then the first request has first refusal. If she doesn't need it anymore, then you can have it. I know that's very much up in the air, so my suggestion would be to try to find another swap to join. Sorry

If the fridge doesn't reappear then the swappers here have the option of purchasing a new fridge (sharing the cost say between the next 8-10) and continuing on. However, someone else will have to take it over.

Accepting all pixie dust , and crossed fingers! Stay tuned.

FRIDGE FOUND 1/6/08

I still haven't heard back from the PMs I've sent so the fridge is still missing. As such, making requests, at this time, isn't a good idea. Please see if you can find another swap (as did wdwmaw). If we get back on track I will post that I am accepting date requests. Thanks.

Still no word on the fridge?? We are heading down in 5 days. Is there anything I can do to try and locate it while we are down there if it has not been found?

I can. The fridge box is large. It's very beat up. I think the box originally was white. It stands about 3' tall (when I put it next to the bathroom counter, it was level with it.) Its about 18" x 18" in the other directions. It has green mickey heads on it plus (in Sept.) it had a larger cut-out Mickey Head in white paper (if I'm remembering right) The main thing is that it had a piece of larger piece of paper on it that said, "If unclaimed, contact Terri B....., at 951/........" Also the fridge box said Box 1 of 2 on it and the box with the toaster and coffeepot said box 2 of 2 on it. It was a plain carboard box about 15" x 15" x 18". It also had the same mickey heads and unclaimed message on it.

I hope they can locate it. If you haven't, have them check Lost and Found. That's where it's been most of the time before when it has gone missing. (Those times they called me though)

Also, it should have the swappers info on that wasn't able to get it. I'm going to send you her personal info so you'll have it. I'm still waiting to her if mitcham was able to pick it up before her, so I'll send you her info too.

I've heard from one of the swappers coming up and there seems to be interest in getting a new fridge and having the first swappers (maybe7-10) share the cost. I would recommend the smaller size fridge which ran me about $70 at Walmart rather than the larger one. Every since our swap has had the bigger fridge, having it in Luggage Services has been a problem. The smaller one worked great for us in Sept. 06-it's about the same size as POP rents and does have a small freezer compartment.

If the fridge isn't found, would that be okay with the next group coming up? And who would like to organize it? I will help with the transition.

Still hope we find the fridge, but this would be just in case. I heard back from mitcham and she did use it in Dec. She dropped it off at Luggage Services on 12-20. She said it was very busy and they were expecting 2000+ check-ins that day! That just makes me more sure that our 2 boxes went direct to Lost and Found and since they weren't located by ksloane, they are more than likely gone forever as 2 weeks has come and gone since they went missing. I've sent kristenhh the info that would still be on the boxes but if she doesn't locate them, and I don't get contacted by either POP or another swap who may have them, then I would have to report that this fridge is permanently gone.

I hope everyone can get in agreement on sharing the cost. The sooner the better since the next swapper is arriving soon. The next swapper arrives on the 11th for 10 nights. I have had a request for the gap from 1/21 to 1/26 but I've put all requests on hold. If someone doesn't want to split the cost, please let me know that also. Then we (the new organizer) could work on getting your slot filled. Also, the fridge will have to either be delivered, or picked up. Will someone coming soon have a vehicle?

Okay, ignore all above as I just received an email from kristenhh-She HAS THE FRIDGE! The toaster and coffee pot are missing but she will still try to locate. She thinks another swap had our fridge. So... all is good for now but if you can do an in person swap, PLEASE DO! Sorry for those who couldn't use it, but glad it's back on track.
