We just booked the pop for 12/5 thru 12/10. I heard the football and cheerleading thing was in Dec. Can anyone tell me when that is? I hope its not that week???!!!!

Thanks::MinnieMo

well, i can not access the december calendar on the popwarner website. however, we have been at wdw several times as the cheerleaders and honestly, it was not bad. overall the children were well behaved and the waits for rides were not bad. hope this gives you some better feelings about the possibility of being there the same time.

We were there last December 6-14 and they were definitely there. My MIL stayed at AS Sports and did not have a particularly pleasant experience. There was, apparently, lots of late night running and screaming. The biggest problem for her though was that the All Stars busses to and from the parks were always packed and she had to wait and wait for a bus. Good Luck.

I'm pretty sure your dates are when Pop Warner is. We've been there the last 3 years during Pop Warner; and it wasn't that bad until last year. Usually we stay in a deluxe or home away from home resort and don't come into contact with the kids except for at the parks. Last year we stayed at POR, and some of them were staying there. We did have one occasion where there was some yelling/very foul language in the courtyard in front of our room. It was actually the coaches yelling at the kids! Other than that the food court was especially crowded in the mornings and evenings.

We've never even noticed it being especially crowded in the parks due to Pop Warner. We usually just see small groups of them in different places. One time there were a ton of them in MGM at one time--I think there was some specific reason they were there, I just can't remember what it was.

I wouldn't be too worried about Pop Warner. We're going back again this year at the same time!:D

We were there with them last Dec from the 12th to the 17th. We were at AllStarMusic. I have to say that the kids at our resort were pretty well-behaved. I was pleasantly surprised. We tried to eat at times that were early for them tho. The parks didn't seem to be to badly impacted. Would I go at that time again? Sure. I just thought it was a little chilly.

We were at WDW the entire week Pop Warner was there in Dec. 03. I really didn't see too many of them at the parks, but they did crowd the food court at POR.

I think most of them are busy at the various competitions during the week, so crowd size at the parks isn't affected.

DO NOT let the fact that Pop Warner will be there change your plans. We had a great time and the holidays are extra special at WDW. No waiting in line, comfortable weather, and great decorations.

If you have little ones be sure to get tickets for Mickeys Christmas Party (I think thats what they call it) at the MK.

Have fun!! We'll be there too!!

We were there last year and the same time and we stayed at the CBR and we never saw any teenagers running around....This year were going back around the same time will be at POFQ I hope we have the same luck::yes::
I wouldn't let the fact they are going to be there change your mind you will have a great time, last year I thought the samething and we had a great time...:wave2:

Well-all I can suggest is that you check some of the other (many) threads there have been on this subject.
If it were me, I'd never go when the cheerleaders were there and stay at the Pop (or any other budget/moderate).
It seems that their impact in the parks is minimal. Their impact at those resort hotels can be another matter entirely---.

:D DW and I were there last Dec 2003, 12/12 - 12/16 at POR and never even saw any groups of cheerleaders or players. Now this Dec we are staying at the POP 12/3 - 12/7 and only after Tyler said that the POP would get the overflow from the All Stars and they would be kept together. I really don't see it being a problem as you can request to be kept away from their rooms and all the resorts are huge.

I'm not letting it affect my plans and I don't think anyone else should either.

Remember, they have games and competitions throughout the week so their inpact is minimal.:D

We definitely noticed them traveling in "packs" in the parks, but it didn't really effect wait times or anything like that. We stayed at the AKL, so we didn't have a problem at our resort either. Unless you are staying at a value or moderate, I wouldn't worry about them at all.

but the cheerleaders were awful. Like a previous poster said, they travel in packs and are terribly rude (for the most part). We stayed at the AKL so never saw them all that much as I heard they were at the All-Star resorts. I would say to see if you could get into a moderate or delux. In the parks...just avoid the packs!Good luck!

Uncleromulus is correct. I have stayed many times at the value resorts and everytime these groups seem to be there as well. We find the resorts noisy, unsupervised kids running everywhere, they practice everywhere from early in the morning to late at night and crowd the foodcourt. This has led us to avoid the values at all cost.

The resorts do not place them only in specific bldgs and because of the numbers they seem to be everywhere at the resort. The park is a different case with the exception of the Studios you really wont have a problem with them there.

My advice upgrade to another resort.
