POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

We stayed in a convenient location last trip and I want to request the same again. As you walk straight through the doors by the gift shop out toward the Hippy Dippy pool, we had a room to the left (I think it was a Jungle Book theme) overlooking the pool.

What does my request need to be to get there again?

I believe it was a preferred room you were in, so it might have been just a luck of the draw if you didn't pay for it.

Sorry I didn't state that. It was a preferred room. But I've had preferred rooms before that were much farther away. I liked how close that was to everything and would like to request it again.

Sounds like building #5. There is a resort map on page 18 of this thread. (sorry, tried to copy and paste it, but it wouldn't let me).

Any more refurb updates? I arrive in 10 days! We have 2 preferred rooms booked and I didnt request refurbed rooms only because we really need connecting rooms and if I add too many requests I may not get the connecting, which is truly my 1st choice! But we can hope!

We stayed at Pop in 2007 and are going back in 4 weeks. We had a top floor room in the 90s, overlooking the pool. It was real quiet and literally only 2 minutes from classic hall by cutting across the car park. Liked it so much we have asked for same again this year.
What caught my eye about your post is that DH and I are also big kids in our 40s without children. We loved the location because we went straight down the stairs at the end of the landing and our car was parked right there each day!! Also, if you do venture into the pool to cool off, the computer pool is the quietest. Most mornings we had it to ourselves at 8:00am (apart from the morning when we had to share with a couple of ducks!!)

I just hung up from the Pop front desk. I called to ask if bld 3 is completeand after being put on hold and being transfered to another CM they finally told me that Bld 3 is totally done! As well as bld 4! Actually he said the entire resort except blf 1 & 2 are done. Does this sound right to anyone?! I'm hesitant to believe because I was transfered around so much! Im going next Fri and love bld 3, but don't want to be in a construction zone. thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Wow I know they started on building 4 but that was quick! But that would sound about right.

There were on-the-ground reports during the last week or so about work on building 3, so it sounds right that it's all done or at least mostly done. Good news!

forgot to say...when i called tonight one person said all buildings are done except bld 1 & 2. Then i was put on hold and a different person came on and said that bld's 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are done and they are working on 4?????
Why is it so difficult to get the same answer twice?!

Because it's Disney. Ask 5 CM's the same question, get 5 different answers.

Just wanted to let you know, just checked in to Bldg 4, two rooms and neither are refurbed. (60's section).

Most everyone reported no construction noise from the refurbs.

I'm back from the POP returned this morning very very early so I'm still half asleep lol. I did some requested checking and this is what I found out for everyone.

I spoke with 3 different CM's on 3 different occassion's but they all gave pretty much the exact same answer so take it for what it's worth.

#1 None of the sections are 100% complete not even the 70's tho' that is the furthest along. all 3 CM's said 70's was 90% complete.

#2 50's and 60's not yet complete. About 40 percent complete at this time.

#3 I asked when they would be completly finished up as I was thinking about booking a bounce back for MNSSHP. all 3 CM's said come back in Oct they expected to be 100% finished with all the refurbs in all sections by Oct.

OH I hope this is true because I will be there the last week of October and looking to stay in building 4 or 5 ground floor facing Hippy Dippy pool! Yeah, I know it will be LOUD but that is cool with us, we are loud too

Oy, the run around I have had for just a few simple questions.
Nobody at the hotel or call centers (cause I know that's who you get) even tho they tell you they are at the hotel... know anything...one said 'Pop Century isn't going thru any reno's' another said 'the entire place is finished' another said 'it's all done except for blds 1 & 2' and the best one of all from the "manager" of the front desk...we aren't doing a reno..we are just repairing things in rooms here and there thru out the property. Not entire buildings!!!!!!!
I just don't get why they just can't pull it up in the computer..when I worked in reservations for an airline we everything accessible and easy to find in the computer! If someone needed to know what terminal we flew from anywhere in the world...any question you could think of could be answered with a little searching and checking. I know Disney is a way more organized and oiled machine than any airline or company out there, that's why they are Disney..so just a little memo in the daily news part of the computer when the employee logs in would be helpful! I'm still flabbergasted at the run around I've had...this just shouldn't be the case..... But I'm still going to have fun fun fun!!
