POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

so glad to hear that the renovated rooms are nice! We can hardly wait to get back there April 14-22nd:cool1: We love the location of the 80's bld # 9 so that is what I requested. Now bring on the discounts:lmao:

I wonder if they are just saying that due to the whole overbooked situation and folks being upset over a refurbished room at POP vs. an older room at an AS.

"Overbooked situation"???? Pop is overbooked? For when? They aren't moving people to AS, are they? This is the first I've heard about an overbooking.

There's a locked thread about it here somewhere. Look on page 2 or 3 of this forum for a thread with "error" in the title. That's all I'm saying. :rolleyes1

Yeah, some people due to arrive this week have been asked to move to the All Stars.

I just returned from the POP and my room in the 70's was a refurb and it was very nice. They were hard at work on all the other rooms saw lots of carpet being carted out. We were there July 25-30 and must say the resort seems to have been booked to capacity, but it was July so that to be expected. They may have booked moor rooms then they have and due to the work maybe more rooms are out of service then they planned on.

all i know is that if they say i gott move out my room i paid m hard earned money for, due to THEIR screw up... they better be upgrading me.. it doesnt have to be a deluxe either.. a mod would be fine.. i paid for a perferred room there..

I'm sure they would find a place for you, if they have no other rooms tell them you want the castle suite.

nah i dont need all that for as much time as im gonna spend in the room.. but if they screw up they should do something to compensate it... its their fault, not yours or mine..

You should be fine. We check in prior to that and room availablity comes up in rack rate booking. It's this week that is the probem I believe.

i hope so. i booked this like a year ago, literally.. just when i came back from last years trip...

the 28th..check in the 30th

you should be fine... it seems like this Friday the 20th is the night in particular that is sold out everywhere.

I just booked this past Friday for 9/2-7 and there was wide open availability everywhere. I even got all the dining I wanted without issue.

thats good you were able to do that..

we have the dining plan and there is really only 3 places we want to eat there. one is mostly for walk ins.. so no worries about that.. and ther other two are minor restruants at teh parks.. otherwise we are playing by ear.. we will have a car so if we want to eat out we can..

I'm sure it will be fine. They will find you a room somewhere.

Sadly, I really got the impression that they were clueless. I even called Pop directly, and went as far as speaking with housekeeping. Assured all along that no refurbs had been completed.

When you call the direct number it just goes to the call center and they answer it as Pop, it's not the front desk

Yes there are a couple of threads about it. But they are calling the people they are moving before the the trip. It sounds like all of Disney is booked and so most are getting moved to AS resorts. There is basically nothing left to upgrade them too.

Thanks. I have NO problem staying at another resort - as long as they are giving me my own shuttle service! LOL. The main reason we stay at POP is because they don't share buses. Oh, I will be p*ss*d in the beginning, but I'm sure I'll get over it as soon as I walk into MK. (even with the ugly wall they put up to hide all of my daughter's favorite attractions - small world, Ariel and Poo).

60's buildings are not all complete.
Just got back from staying in building 4 of the 60's and our
room was not complete. Actually none of the rooms in this
section of the 60's were done. I have read that building 5
60's section is done. But I can tell you building 4 is not.
We were in room 4113. While we were there they were working
on building 3 second floor and the last few days of our trip the
bottom floor was being worked on. They were removing the beds
and painting while we were there.
