POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

As we all know, you never can get a straight answer from Disney. CMs will give your different info, and you just never can be sure until Disney makes an official announcement.

Our AAA agent called Disney with a question about the POP refurb, and the Disney CM told her that the only resort refurb occuring at the present is the Grand Floridian. Good thing the DIS knows otherwise!

We asked for the 60's facing the lake--bottom floor--keeping fingers crossed that we get what we want.

i asked for a 50's room... i would ratehr not be near the main pool(60's) too much noise and too many little kids for my taste..

We were facing the lake so it was pretty quite there. I would never request a pool side room. But then again I have a daycare so maybe to me I thought it was quite.

well i have a preferred room so i think it would be more poolside so the noise...yeah

We will be at POP in 17 days!
We stayed in the 90's (facing the parking lot) which was fine because we had a car and we were just steps away from it and the computer pool. In Dec. we stayed in the 60's with a lake view (perfect location). This time I requested the 50's (just for something different). I will report back on where we ended up!

Have a great trip. I'm almost at my 45 day mark. Need to call tommorow and bug them to send me a e-mail conformation again. I added a fridge but I want conformation that it is on there. Because they have left things off before.

Got all our med's, sunscreen, earplugs for me, and some serious organizational things (thanks to all the back to school stuff). I am worried we are going to be in a refurbed room and cannot imagine 4 people for 9 days with 3 drawers....

Exact same thing here. Let me know how it worked for you as we are going for 10 days with 4 of us also. I went to the dollar store and they had those cubes that someone suggested. So I'm going to get a few of them to store our socks and undies in.

I just paid $6.99 on sale for a plain purple one and $9.99 for a pink hippo faced one at Target!! I requested 70's 1st floor and rehabbed. I just hope I get building 10. Forgot to mention I favor it so. There is only 3 of us this trip, so hopefully if I put DD8's tiny clothes in the cubes, we can deal with the 3 drawers. I am planning on bringing a bunch of hangers. I hang most of my clothes anyway.

Yipee!!! I'm now booked at the POP!!! There weren't any opening for the week I was going (using the Summer 30% off thing) and now there are!!!!! Its costing me a lil more cause only Preffered was available, but its the POP so who cares? :

Yeah that had them. They are cheaply made. I'm sure not as nice as the target ones. But that is something I'm just going to toss out after. To make room for souviners. I just hope when I go back to get them I get the right size.

I just got my conformation and the did put a note 60's section lakeview plus all paid in full.

Wow, thanks for the info! Did you happen to notice work being done on the 50s buildings at all?

I did not see any work being done on any of the buildings, but we pretty much didn't tour the resort much this year. I didn't get over to the 50's at all!!

Here, Now, (taking a rest day after 2 days at the parks)...

We are staying in the 50's section, Building 3, lake view.

They are inthe process of refurbing the 1st and 2nd floors. the top two floors are done. (Our room was so fresh when we checked in that the paint was still a touch wet!)..

They were moving furniture into the 2nd floor courtyard facing rooms this morning.

I guess building 1 and 2 are next!

According to the map someone did that's in the "Groovier Pop Century" thread, not all preferred rooms are facing the pool. There are some in the 70's that face the parking lot and are pretty close to the main building. Which is what I'm hoping to get. I put in my request when I switched to POP to be in the 70's on a top floor close to a staircase, so here's hoping I get at least one of those!

what's with these "top floor" people? Don't you know that the ground is so far away!!
