POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

10 days to POP!! Could someone confirm if any of the 60's are done? I have booked preferred and have requested the 60's poolside, but I would love to know if the rooms are done. Thanks!

WoooHoooo, me too! 12 days for me also have preferred and will be requesting 60's poolside. Would also like to know about the 60's since there seems to be some conflicting info here. See ya soon neighbor!

Nonetheless, I arrive on Sep 6, so there is still some buffer for the refurbs to advance, Although my biggest hope/dream is a King Size bed + refurbished room in 60s bulding

We just got back Tuesday, and they were working on Building 3 in the 50's. Building 1 wasn't refurbed yet.

Wife and daughter are at Pop now and I'm flying down to join them tomorrow morning . They are at POP in the 50's section preferred room. They said the 50's preferred room they are in has not been refurbed yet. She did notice they are working on the 50's section she saw new mattresses and TV being placed in and sitting outside some of the 50's rooms, so they are still working on the refurb in the 50's section as of yesterday 08/11/10

Top floor building 3. Wont give room number for obvious reasons, but I'll post it once we get back

She says their were TV's and Mattresses outside of some of the rooms in bldg 2. She spoke with a CM when checking in as she did ask for refurb room. The CM said Refurb in 50's bldg 1 and 2 and 3 were being worked as guests check out. The CM told her it only takes about 2 hours to refurb a room. Change the mattress, hook up a new TV, slap on a new coat of paint and that sounds about right. We made reservations at POP last minute so she nor I are surprised the completed prefered rooms went first and we werent able to snag one of those. It's no big deal to us. We are hardly in the room and DW and DD both have raved about the POP food court for breakfast and lunch since arriving.

Since the original plan seemed to be that 50s would be done last, when you arrive could you possibly confirm if all of 60s are done (sorry for asking you to do work on your vaca)? There seems to be some confusion on whether or not all 60s has been completed. Thanks and have an awesome trip!

I just called to update my room preference at POP and I asked the rep how the renovations are going. She said, oh, I was there in May and stayed in the 60's building and the renovations were done. I said....what? No they weren't, they are still doing them. She said, no, they finished all the rooms in May. She said she stayed in a renovated room and the beds were wonderful. (So, I called her bluff) I said, how was the flat screen tv, privacy curtain and the shower curtain. She said that's not part of the renovations - they are just doing mattresses. I told her that she should read the DISBoards before she started giving out false information!!!! Just goes to show that they don't know SQUAT at the call center.

I will check with my girlfriend who works at POP, but she never calls me back! I requested 50's, building 3, ground floor facing the lake....hope they are refurbed and hope I get it!

3 weeks from today, I will be out of PHL and into MCO!

I wonder if they are just saying that due to the whole overbooked situation and folks being upset over a refurbished room at POP vs. an older room at an AS.

Sadly, I really got the impression that they were clueless. I even called Pop directly, and went as far as speaking with housekeeping. Assured all along that no refurbs had been completed.

Luckily this thread has many reports from people in the rooms that have been refurbed. We're expecting an on-the-ground report on Monday from coffeeguy128, who is there now and was already sending reports of active work on the 50s buildings.

I just spoke to Walt Disney Travel to update my room request and I asked the lady if she had any refurbishment information, just to see what she would say. She said she did not -- at least she didn't say nothing was going on.

I called Pop directly about a week or so ago and got transferred to housekeeping - weird isn't it that front desk wouldn'tr know - but I was told 60s was complete!!!!

JMHO, but if it really meant a lot to me to get a refurbed room, I would rely far more on guests' observations that I had read about on here, than I would rely on any phone calls.

Calls to Disney--even those that are allegedly dialed right to the front desk of a resort--seem to be inaccurate frequently. Not that I trust every "eyewitness" report I see on boards, but they seem to be more accurate than phone calls.
