Looking for some input on which of these resorts to stay for a pre-Christmas visit. I have not stayed at either one before but was thinking POR or other Mod may be prettier around the holidays. Also would have a fridge and coffeemaker. It will be just 2 adults (my sister and I) The difference in price is $129 total for 3 nights. Not a huge amount but we could use it for meals since we are not on the dining plan. Most of our days will be spent in the parks. Thanks in advance for your advice!:goodvibes

As I like both hotels... since you wont be in your room relaxing much I would definitely say the POP. We stay here more often than any other hotel and we like it very much. It is still Disney but less of the price.
Just out of curiousity... are you going this year or is this for next year?

For an adults-only trip and Christmas decor, I would say POR. However, that is based research and reading only! I have yet to stay at either. DH and I are staying POR Dec 15-18.

I think POR. Think of it as $100 since at POP you'd have to buy two mugs($26.00 total) to get coffee that you can make in the room for free. POR is absolutely beautiful and relaxing anytime and especially during the Holidays. The Moderates also seem less crowded during the holiday season.

It is for this year, Dec. 16-19. Thank you for all your replies, I need to make a decision soon!

I say POR. I have stayed at POR, POFQ, and POP. I think the mods would feel a lot less crowded and a lot more relaxed around the holidays. That, to me, is worth the extra $.

I would recommend POFQ. Love this place. Feel free to click on my TRs (Playin it and POP) and (Adults only Dec 2008) for pictures of both resorts.

Well I haven't stayed at Pop but I would still pick POR. I think having the extras and the beauty of it all is worth it to me. Not to mention it's winter hours and you will have more time in your room than you would during the warmer months. As the park hours are shorter. If you really wanting to enjoy the holiday decor then Por.

POR 10 timed over POP. Without the dining plan having the fridge may save you 10$ a day if you bring pop or stop by a store. The fridge is 10$ a night at value resorts. Also Room is way bigger, and hotel is much less crouded with 4 bus stops. You will spend less time waiting in a line and more time in the park.

Funny - I had reservations for Pop for December 12-20. I made them last February, and had already paid for the trip. Then I saw some ads for deals, so I thought I'd check and see if I could get a better deal, and maybe a refund? They told me if I switched to All Star Sports I could save about $130 (I really didn't want to stay there). But then she checked the Moderates, and ended up getting me exactly the same thing I had at Pop (tickets, DxDDP - the whole thing) at POR for an additional $42.31 - TOTAL for the 8 nights/9 days.

And so now I get to go to POR and have that lovely coffee maker. :cool1:

Best $42.31 I ever spent. :lmao:

As much as I love POP I'd pick POR. The price difference is just $60 for each of you and the resort is much more beautiful for 2 adults.

My sister and I stayed at the POP and loved it but we had 2 rooms and the kiddies.

For adults only go for POR.

Stay at POR without even a hesitation. The values are great with little itty bitty kids, ow, no way would I go. Honestly we wouldn't go to a value unless absolutely had to, but that's just us. Don't like them at all as 2 adults. POR is gorgeous! I'm going in Dec, haven't been in several yrs and I'm so psyched!

I can tell you I love POR so much, I made it my home resort.

This year I was offered an upgrade to a deluxe studio down the river, at $210.00 less that at POR and I was absoutely utterly torn.

Good thing the CM was so patient and reminded me I would have the same amenities at SSR that I would have at POR - and I am already booked next year for POR again.....

:rotfl::rotfl:We'll be at CSR those exact same dates (Dec 12th-20th).

To OP: I'd go with PORS hands down. Nicer themed resort with bigger room, double sink, fridge, coffee pot, ceiling fans, pool slide, hot tub, covered bus stops, boat to DTD, lounge with Ye Ha Bob performing, TS restaurant, much nicer food court (love the maffaleta, create your own pasta, and magic cookie bars they have). The mods are usually much quieter and more peaceful than the Values. Their bus stops are also alot closer to the front of parks, which is great for tired toosies at the end of the night. You might also want to take a look at CSR. All their rooms are recently remodeled and now have queen size beds. I was just at CSR Sept 25th-Oct 4th and those beds are soooo comforable. Also the bus service was wonderul--much better than we've ever had at POP or PORS. For just $60.00 a piece there is no way I wouldn't stay at a moderate. I'm traveling solo for my upcoming May trip and am booked at PORS. Can't wait!

I like Pop and have no issues staying there, but you cannot beat POR. The resort is gorgeous (I personally love the Mansions section) and the rooms are quite a bit larger. Think double sinks. . .two women getting ready to go to the parks in the morning and each of you have your own sinks. . .can't beat that.

Fridge and coffee maker make it worth it.

Beautiful, quiet resort and lovely boat ride to DTD.
