Noise can be a factor anywhere you stay, really. Yes, POP might be a bit more chaotic at times, but I have yet to experience a situation where I couldn't sleep or where things didn't settle down at night. After midnight, it's very peaceful. If you plan on getting up early (7 AM or so) I don't see there being any issues whatsoever. If you sleep in when everyone is getting up and little kids are running all over the place, it can get a bit noisy in the morning or during the day. But all in all, I've never had any problems with the noise.
.

let me tell you my expereince with the "noise" at pop century.. it was in MY ROOM!!!:lmao: hubby would NOT stop snoring!!! no matter what I did.

I finally grabed 2 pillows and a blanket and trduged out to the bowling pin pool... about 12:30 am.

there were a couple ladies realxing on loungers, chatting quietly. I dragged 2 loungers together (no they dont' exactly "meet up", but I could still stretch one knees and one arm over the 2nd lounger) I thought I must look silly, and siad "no we didn't have a fight, my husband wont' stop snoring!" they replied "Oh sorry! we left OUR husbands at home" at that point I admit it, I said "you're LUCKY!"

anyway, the point is I actually got a couple hours sleep there by the pool in the middle of the night!!! right by the pool! and I am a light sleeper.

shortly after I settled in the 2 ladies left. I started to doze off and a father and young daughter came down for a late swim.. they were very quiet. then a couple came down.. he swam, she sat by the side. on my side... I thought that was weird... if you see some weird lady kinda straddling 2 lounge chairs with a blanket and pillows, and were going to "chat" pool side, wouldn't you sit on the other side? :confused3

I know! you're not expected to be able to sleepby the pool.. I just thought it strange.

but the pools are open 24 hours. the only rule is after 10pm you have to be quiet.. and boy were they! everyone was quiet. I dozed off for a couple hours, cause I was awaoken by the sound of "CAW! CAW!" i'm like "where am I?"

oh yeah! look at my watch.. about 3:30. trudge back to the room.......

hubby never even knwe I was gone!:rotfl2:

Checked out of POP today and I would definitely stay there again. It was really fun. DS could not get enough of the big arcade and the pool. It was nice to watch the kids play games at the main pool.

I didn't not really care for the food court. I think I would have liked the old menu better. We walked over last night and ate at AOA.

The buses were very good. We never waited more than 5 minutes.

Mousekeeping was good, the room was clean and in good condition. The wi-fi was really good. I had my luggage transferred over to POFQ and received it around 3pm.

Thanks for the report!

I wasn't really the biggest fan of the old POP menu. I think on my last visit I only ate there 3-4 times. It was usually a burger, pizza, etc. I'm actually looking forward to a Mediterranean flat bread. Hopefully there's a few things I like. Most of our meals will be at the parks or Downtown Disney, and we might grab a meal at AoA, too.

That is hilarious! :rotfl: I've never even considered sleeping at the pool. It actually sounds kind of nice!

And yes, if I'm ever somewhere that there's only a few people (like at the pool) I always stay as far away from them as I can, especially if they're sleeping LOL. Some people just seem to be oblivious to others.

We just swapped over from ASMovies to Pop for our Sept trip. Preferred was all that was left. Now for room requests. Ds4 is autistic so we prefer quiet for naps, short walks to pool, and most times we use our van for transportation because its just easier with him. 50's looks appealing but I was reading elevators are at opposite end if building from food court. We have to use elevator. Any recommendations? We normally request top floor to avoid jumping kids above us. M

Thank you, I was leaning towards standard rooms for us, we will need 3 rooms total. From viewing the POP property map it looked very easy to navigate and close to everything. Thanks again for your help.

Sorry, I'm new to the boards and haven't quite figured out how to work all this, need to get my daughter to come over and help me I think actually..:rotfl2: I want to thank you both for responding to my question, I will go with standard rooms.

Elevators are located in the CENTER of each bldg...
So if you are in a room say closest to the food court and on the second, third, or fourth floors and don't want to take the stairs at the end of the bldg...then Yes, you will essentially have to walk past your room to get to the elevator and then walk the catwalk back to your room once you exit the elevator. Hope that helps! :)

For what it's worth, I have never had top floor at Pop and have never noticed noise from above. I don't know if others have had a different experience, though. If you end up with a pool-facing room, it will be loud at all hours of the day and some of the night. :p So if you like the 50's section, request that you are not facing the pool. The 70's section does not have a pool so it's pretty quite and it is a short walk to either the computer or the hippy dippy pool.

Another room request question.... I will do online check in in a few days. Please critique my request. I want to be able to face Epcot and see the bits of illuminations that are visible from pop. Should I ask for top floor facing Epcot as my first choice or are they two choices? I also want 50s building. Thanks!

There are standard options you check off only with online check-in, so you could request top floor and 50s, but facing Epcot won't be an option to pick with online check-in. I know each decade, top floor, ground floor and close to transportation are options, not sure if there are others. If you want to be able to see the top of Illuminations you will have to call and have a CM add that on your reservation as a request.

Oh I get it! I already have that on my reservation, the part about facing Epcot. I guess I would go with to floor 50s and then call to remind a cm about facing Epcot? For sure I know that we need quiet... So not facing the pool. I have a TA... Would she check in online or me?

I just finished my Online Checkin, with a standard room. Lake View, 70's,but when I changed my mind and decided on 50's It wouldn't let me remove the 70's so it shows as. "Lake View, 70's Building, 50's Building." It will be interesting to see which one they decide to go with.

Maybe they'll split the difference and put you in the 60s. :rotfl2:

Do you know if you can see illuminations from 50s lake view?
