DisneyMom5, I am relieved that everyone is in good enough shape that at least some of you can go. Bet they are all glad that you are not having to cancel though. That is the way folkls are when they love us. I echo Kelli's advice. I have been trying to change a few of my ADR's and everything is full up. I refuse to cancel anything unless I get a replacement first. The big thing is to get room for two more at R&C one night as some friends are coming over to meet us. I will try on site and even go over and talk them direct from time to time until they give me what I want just to get me to shut up. Works with my grandkids!

I'm already showing up for ressies for 16 with only 13 (so far) since my BIL had to cancel and now the ILs.
The only place I think I really have to call is Princess Storybook, because even though we are on the dining plan, I had to secure that one with a cc#. But 13 would still take up the two eight tops we would have needed for a group of 16, right?
Otherwise, I just plan on showing up and telling them that 3 of our party could not make it.
Didn't have to touch the ressies for the second week when it's just mom and us. If she gets to go.

I do NOT believe in bad luck.
So I am still holding out hope that there are no more injuries, illness, hurricanes, other natural disasters, airline delays OR acts of war. Sigh.

DisneyMom5, I do not believe in bad luck either but I do believe that when things are going well we do not pay much attention and thus when things go awry they tend to make more of an impact. I am also of the mind that bad things HAVE to happen once in awhile just to remind us how lucky we are the rest of the time! Any chance that one of your overbooked ressies is for R&C on the 19th at 7:40?? I am desperately trying to get two more added to that day as some friends want to come over and eat with us that night. Last year they decided to surprise us by coming over only to find that we were sick and had cancelled and were bedbound.

LorilieMarie, How very nice of you!! I took two of my Focker landyards and hung them on either side of my purse so I might get some attention. I hate stuff around my neck. Must have gotten hung in a past life or something.

lovemickeyshouse, it is hard to believe that you have not managed to gather a harem for your upcoming trip. Maybe you will have better luck in person? If not please come and see me and see if this grandma can give you a few hints.

I will get a late start tomorrow as it is state wide read to a kid day and you KNOW I am not missing that. I have my red nose all warmed up and ready to go!!

I did it!! I starting packing last night. I packed majority of my clothes and will pack the rest this weekend when I do laundry. I got such a high of excitement, I just couldn't help myself. Next is the kids clothes. I will have everything done by Sat.

I've been dreaming that I'm in the world and the days pass by so fast we don't have time to see everything we want to see. We have a list of things we want to do and it seems like every 5 minutes that goes by, it's more like an hour. I can't let that happen IRL. I will slow down and enjoy just being there.

I have the same dreams! OOPS!, we forgot to go to MNSSHP, We should be at our ADR, but we are lost in this undeveloped part of Disney that looks horrible and don't know how to get there, it goes on and on... I'm always so glad to wake up and know it's not too late to do it right!

So, I got the chance to FINALLY go to the Dollar Store in town today (it had moved and I couldn't find it )!! I'm SO Stoked now about decorating our windows/doors! We will have 2 rooms so I am going to try to come up with enough for both. I bought stickers, 1 set of window clings (all they had ), a kid's math book w/ Disney pics in it, and a Disney Villians coloring book. I figure I can cut out the Disney pics and color and cut out the Villians! I'm just a Big Kid at heart anyway so the coloring part will be a good way to kill the time I had picked up a posterboard that I was thinking I would decorate and put up for signing, but then I accidently forgot to bring it to the register I got sidetracked by the stickers
One question - do you think it would be ok to use regular scotch tape on the inside of the windows to hang the colored pages? or would that be messy?

Oh, yeah, my mom is getting into trying to plan now. It is funny cause she is finding things, but she will tell me something like opening and closing times and I've known the info since like a week after we started planning the trip and then she won't have all the info right Oh, well, we can't all be perfect Disney obsessed planners, can we? I will probably let her come over and "help" me plan some this weekend. I love her really, its just fun to know more for once

Ok - I was able to adjust my one cc# ADR without having to change times or ADR #, so Yay on that one!

My mom is up and running and was talking about packing and car activities and snacks to bring for the van, so good to go there!

Yesterday we focused on Disney, and made our tip envelopes, fine tuned our driving directions, checked off some things I had bought, and dyed my hair. Last one being the most important. I may be getting old, but I have young children, and I don't want to look like THEIR grandma. When I am a grandma I'll deal. LOL
The box said Champaigne Blonde. You'll have to decide when you see it. Looks better anyway.

Today we have 2 well-checks at the Peds, and are supposed to be having a picnic for the homeschool group kick-off, but considering the weather report, we shall be moving that inside.
(I am NOT in the mood to sit at a meeting, too much packing/planning to do, but want to show my support. And I haven't seen my friends much this summer. Wasn't that always the best reason to go back to school? LOL)

Grand Gatherings called to verify our ressies (before MIL and FIL cancelled, so I hope that doesn't mess anything up) and I thought that was an awful nice touch.
My mom keeps getting flyers about all there is to do at WDW, but that must be for newbies only.
I'm contemplating packing undies and socks today. They can do with what they have left until we leave. LOL
Well, there you have it, probably more than you wanted to know. LOL

I'll save one for you and Keli, and anyone else who asks! The stuff I found in my closet only made 18 large LGMH's, so I'm going to buy more. They look awesome! I should post a pic.

As for the scotch tape, I thought about that (and I'm sure tape will be fine, just clean it off with a little soap & water if there's anything there), but I thought about buying some of those really small Command Hooks to hang this poster board strip that I'm going to put in my window. They remove clean and easy, might not look as good from the outside though.

You can also buy magnets at the craft supply section, peel and stick thin magnets (everyone travels with scissors in their checked luggage right?) so you peel and stick on your artwork and the magnets wont leave a residue on the outside door -

definately use those commando strips, or tape - wait another few days, I'm betting Walgreens et el will have their Halloween lights and clingys on sale - Mom bought lots of cool things 2 years ago - I have it in a box somewhere!!

DD is still refusing to go - she got so angry last night, then she wrote posters and petitions up refusing to go, and the reasons why... (basically in 3 trips to and from wdw on a plane, the last trip she got sick, fever and used air sick bags... but its the plane and weathers fault the 2 hour flight took over 11 hours...) She then cried for an hour... dh had to work late, so she finally crawled in bed with me - it was pathetic... ok sweet...

then 10 min mom called to tell me my cousin passed away. (not sure if I posted here, but she had been on life support for about a week - young, my age!)

So its the weekend. 2 weeks. DH now thinks we should just not go! I'm going to try one more time to reason with this very intellegient, bright, outgoing - scared, (and scarred) child!!

I can't believe the time is almost here!! Next week this time I should be in Florida. I'm glad it's not a long road trip. I got our snacks and left them at my moms house so it won't be eaten before hand. Anyone who has a teenager knows what I'm talking about. Anyway, tonight when I get off work, I'll be heading down to the boarding place with all my paperwork and deposit. I called earlier this week to reserve her spot, so now I just have to finalize it. Tomorrow I'll be running around like a chicken without a head. When I'm finished with my errands, it's back home to finish laundry and packing the kids clothes. I only have 3 days to work next week and I can't wait.
