POP Before the Christmas Rush-Who's with me!?

Okay Mony! I'm back over here-thanks for finding me on the Dec. ADRs thread! I am once again planning the Dec. trip to POP after having to cancel an earlier trip. Without all the unnecessary details, I am now planning not only a trip but A Grand Gathering for DH's family! Woo-hoo! we will be there the same days as you, Katiebug, the 15th-20th. I sooooo can't wait! Now I just gotta get someone to cancel LTT for the 15th for 9 people. Otherwise all the ADRs are set.

Ahh! A couple weeks ago I canceled an ADR for LTT on the 15, but it was only for two. I'm not sure if that would have helped you, but I wish I would have known I would have told you!

Thanks but it probably wouldn't have worked, since I need a table for nine or either two tables. I currently have CP for 5 people , but my BIL and his family just decided to join us so I am having issues adding them for that night even at CP. Right now I still have the ressies for 5 at CP but I also have res. for CP at lunch that will fit all 9 of us. I was just hoping to dine with Minnie and gang. We'll see-there are always cancellations. Just keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hope everyone had a great weekend ! What section of Pop is everyone requesting ?

I have put in a request for 50's even though its considered preferred rooms, in the off chance they feel like giving us an early Christmas present!:lmao: If not 50's, then I hope for 60's. We have my in-laws going with us and it would be easier for them the closer we are to Classic Hall. We were in 60's before on the backside facing the lake and it was very nice back there!

Another for 50s.

We stayed in the 70s last time and that was good so I would be willing to take that again if there is no 50s available.

I am hoping for 4th floor with a view of hourglass lake. You can see Epcot fireworks from the lake.

Well since the code came out the only rooms I could get was a preferred room so I guess that will be where my room is. :lmao:

When did you book your room? I have been checking for my BIL (who has been very slow in making his reservations BTW) to make sure everything was still available and it has been letting me select "standard" rooms. And we have the same dates on our trip. It would save you a "little" money if you switched and you can still possibly get a great standard room but its not that big of a difference in money if you want to guarantee a good room and keep your preferred room. (Good being supposedly close to CH)

We booked a standard room in a June but whenever the code came out (like 2 or 3 weeks ago?) the CM said only preferred rooms were available with the code so I took that. Everything is paid for now so there is really no point of changing it and atleast we will get a good room.

Sounds like the CM didn't know what they were talking about! We all got standard rooms (in my group) with the code. But like I said, at least you're not talking a lot of $ in the difference. :confused3

All the standards could have been issued out first, leaving then preferred rooms if you want to use the code.

I'm not sure which section to pick, bit I'd like as little walking as possible from buses. (The little ones get tired). But with 15 of us going, we'll probably have to take where they put us.

It seems like you can be put in an undesired section, but I really think there is no such place.

We were put in the 80's section last time right up against the parking lot. We did have a rental, so walking to the rental to drive to the parks was no big deal. But we did use Disney transportation from time to time and walking to the bus stops took only a few mintues. By that I mean under 5 minutes. Once you are at the bus stops, you are at the main building.

DO NOT stress about where they put you.

We are going to be at POP "POUTING" since I hear pin codes came out for the december time frame for free dining and I didn't get one.

Oh well...at least I'm going with my hubby and 3 beautiful girls.

December 8th to December 20th

You totally need to elaborate here with this information.

Apparently A LOT of people have been receiving e-mails from Disney with a pin code attached for select dates in Oct.,Nov., and Dec. for free dining -I am NOT one of those people, at least not so far but I am keeping my fingers crossed (and my dates are part of that e-mail's select dates)! And some of these people have packages already reserved with Disney and have still gotten the e-mails so its not out of the question for any of us to receive one! HEre's pixiedust: to all of us that at least some of us get that magical e-mail.

Oh, and for the preferred room vs. standard room with the discount pkg., as of yesterday I could still put in a reservation for the 15th-20th for a standard room under that discount pkg., so they are still available.

DH told me yesterday about the Free Dining code for December but that only those who have the code attached to their name can use it. I guess the dates are for the week after we will be there. I almost chose that week but the value season ended a couple of days towards the end of that week and I didn't want to pay more for the room (DH didn't want to pay! )

Can't wait till December!

Well, I got my wish-well sorta! I wanted LTT for the 15th for 9 people and I just called and got it! :woohoo: Its for 8:20 though and we are going to have two 3yos in the group so I am unsure they will be able to make it till then but I am going to keep trying for maybe a little earlier time! Either that or we will be loading them up on snacks between lunch and dinner! ;)
