Well I just find this post, we are going first time to POP DW, DD and me Dec 12 to 19th for the third Birthday of our DD (Dec 18). We are going from Monterey, Mexico, fourth time for wife and me second to DD, never stay before on any Disney hotel. We just made the last payment for the reservation and waiting for the day to be on Disney, I cant wait more.

I can see that we are getting a lil' excited over here. 'Bout time!!!!!


I seriously need to start packing. I'm leaving the week before finals and my last week will be jammed pack with tests and finals projects.




I think I need to reconsider the title of this thread.

I know all about lime green and that's cool. But what about us and our little group?

We definately need to identify ourselves somehow.

I need to get off my lazy butt and get to work. When the group of us were going, we had everything planned out....shirts, magnets for the door, window clings....and of course I was going to make it all.

Now that there is just the 3 of us going, I feel guilty making it just for us, and wonder if I even should. DH said he would still wear the shirts if I made them...

Heck I feel guilty for going without our friends. Like yesterday, my friend was with me when I picked up the mail and our ME packet was in it, and I got all excited until I saw the look on her face.

Then I had to hide it from DH because I forgot I upgraded us to the Contemporary for the night of the 10th and want to surprise them..lol

But we will be at POP nice and early on the 11th.

There was a time that our package had 3 nights at the contemporary, but I really wanted to have a savings rather than blow my savings elsewhere.


What am I talking about.......I blew my savings on this trip when we book 4 days in August.

As you can see I am going to be there the 7th-14th. I should be able to meet though from the 7th -13th (we leave late morning on the 14th ) I am willing to work out a time to meet at the pool or something. I sent in a request for the 50s building 3rd or 4th floor lakeview but we'll just have to wait and see what I get. My Mom and I will be decorating our window with snoflakes and christmas fabric Mickey heads. I also plan on having my User name in lime green Mickey heads in the window. I will confirm this before I go just in case we don't get a chance to make the heads. Does everyone here have access to the lime green Mickey heads? How about we use a lime green head and maybe another color head together and attached to our bags so we know who is from this thread.

I picked up a dozen or so green mickey heads... maybe we could use red (or hot pink) as the other color which would be sort of like Christmas colors?

I am such a newbie at this, as you know... well, yesterday I called to change our ME reservation as our flights have changed and the very nice CM patched me through to a very nice CM that takes ADR's... and I was able to get a few... including Ohana's at 8:55PM on the 5th. Can we actually watch the fireworks from there? She said the fireworks started at 9:30pm... and then what do we do afterwards to get back to the POP? (we're not renting a car)... take the monorail back to a park and then wait for a late bus back to POP, or can we just catch a cab?

Can you trust cab service at WDW? We took a cab once to a train station in Greensboro, NC, late at night and I didn't think we would live to tell about it... the driver shut his lights off on the freeway while driving about 25 MPH... I was terrified!!! I whipped out my cell phone and said I'm calling the police now and suddenly he got his lights working again... so I'm jittery about taking a cab anywhere, but don't want to spend 2 hours finding our way home with an exhausted 10 year old... any advice or suggestions? SHould we keep this ADR? I did want to try Ohana's... but we also wanted to go to Epcot and see the light show and fireworks the first night... thanks...

I'll be there 9th to the 18th. We have a total of 16 people so if you see a big gaggle it's probably us. I have our stroller, diaper bag and lanyards all adorned with our LGMH.

Ok. First, I have only been to Disney one other time. That was back in Dec 2006. I have never taken a cab on Disney property but I have heard that they are great. You may want to check over on the transportation board to see if anyone can answer that question better.

Ohana's has large open windows so if you are near the windows you can see the fireworks. You can take the monorail to Magic Kingdom and take a bus from there if you like. The buses will be running because that night is a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party going on and I believe that lasts till midnight.

I've read about restaurants that say, if you want to watch the fireworks, go ahead and we'll hold the table for you so you can finish your meal, or dessert, or what ever you need. I'm sure with their view, they are one of those.

Pikster is right. Just take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and catch a bus they usually run a hour after park closes.

the cabs are great too! We were waiting for a bus one morning in August for an early breakfast ADR and after 35 minutes I gave up and flagged a cab/van for my family and it cost us 15 total with tip for a family of 6.

Cool, I'm glad that you can see the fireworks from Ohana's... I must have read that somewhere but wasn't sure if I just made it up!

It's wierd, sometimes I read that everything is sold out in December, and sometimes I read that it's quiet and empty then... hard to imagine what we'll find when we get there...

But we are getting SOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!! Last night in the middle of the night I realized that I have a lime green lightweight jacket I can bring! I never liked wearing it because it's so bright, but now I have new purposes for that jacket! woo hoo! Maybe I'll get something Disney embroidered on it! haha... okay, now I know I've got the DIS fever...
