POP Before the Christmas Rush-Who's with me!?

Hi Everyone, We will be at POP 12/9-12/16. I am soooo excited as the reason for this trip is to bring my mother-in-law to Disney for the first time! It will also be my brother-in-law and my nephew's(11) first trip. They will be joining me and my DH and DD (11) and DD (13). We actually booked back in
June and I just found this thread tonight. :cool1:

We have never been to Disney during Christmas and we can't wait to see how it looks with the decorations up!:santa: This will also be the first we've tried the dining plan. I have our ADR's and I get hungry just thinking of them:
12/10 Crystal Palace breakfast
LTT dinner

12/11 Ohana

12/12 Prime Time Dinner

12/13 CRT Dinner

12/14 Le'Cellier Dinner

I only wish I could apply one of the new codes to our trip:sad2: . Anyone have any luck with the new codes at POP?

My two oldest children and I will be at POP Dec 13-18th. This is the second trip for them, but the first for all of us at Christmas time. I am sooo excited about it. Actually I am way more excited than the kids are... :)

We got the code to work for out stay, so we are doing the dining plan again. I loved the dining plan last year (went in the end of Sept.) The kids picked out the dining locations, so we are doing Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Tony's, Chef Mickey's and Sci Fi.

The coolest part of the entire thing, for me anyway, is that we have a diver for Coral Reef. The kids both gave up Christmas presents from my DH and myself (of course Santa will still be bringing a few.) So for the sacrifice I thought to get them some Christmas/ Mickey magic. :santa: I can't wait! They have no idea I am doing this... :goodvibes

Here's to 110 days of agony before we see Mickey and the gang! :thumbsup2

12/14 Le'Cellier Dinner

I only wish I could apply one of the new codes to our trip:sad2: . Anyone have any luck with the new codes at POP?

Two things here... I think I have ADRs at LeCellier on the same night. 7:45pm and it's a Sunday, right?

Yes, I was able to get the code put on my existing reservation. My travel agents did it in the A.M. on the morning it was announced. In fact, she did it without asking! I love them!

Lydia, yes, it is a Sunday. Our res. is for 8pm so we should be there at the same time.:) Do you think we'll make illuminations?

I have been calling everyday to try and get the code. Today I found out that if I change my dates by 2 days it would apply, but I already have my air bought so it isn't worth it, not to mention I'd have to change some of my ADR's. I have to admit that I did get a pin code in an email and so I do have some savings, but the new codes would save me more.

Cool! I will have my LGMH with me!

I wasn't planning on Illuminations that night. We will be watching Wednesday 12/17 after our earlier dinner at Teppan Edo. :goodvibes

Is anyone else out there about to go crazy waiting for the day to come?

AHHH!!!!! I sooo cannot wait!

My mom and I will be at POP from December 18-21st. It is going to be a whirl wind tour, but totally worth it! I will be driving us down there (a lovely 7 plus hour drive complete with Disney Theme Park Music) and back.

So far I have on the books for us to have dinner at 4:00pm at Crystal Palace where hopefully I will get a great big tigg-er-rific hug from Tigger and then we will enjoy VMCP. We have never been before so we are both super excited. Then on the 19th we will be eating at Coral Reef followed by the Candlelight Processional, Illuminations, and then spend the rest of the night glued to Soarin' which is my mom's favorite ride (that will also be the day my mom turns 55 so hopefully it will be super special!). Then on the 20th lunch at Sci-Fi and on the 21st lunch at the Biergarten before unfortunately heading home...

I am sooo excited!!! Yay for Disney in December!!!

Does anyone have any tips on how I could make the 19th even more special for my mom?

~Kelly

On this thread, anyway.

We are taking our two boys on their first trip to WDW Dec 7-14 :yay:

Tristan is 7 and will be celebrating his 8th birthday on the 11th. He wishes to be at EPCOT for his special day. Le Cellier was restaurant of choice and UNFORTUNATELY we can't get a res. So, I have to call everyday until then. So I am leaving it open for chance we get in.

This will be my second stay at WDW and my 5th WDW appearance. I lived in FL (2.5hrs from WDW) so daily trips to MK only. This will be my DHs 2nd trip. None of them are more excited than I am!

We are staying at POP, obviously and I am not sure what section we are in. The only schedule we have is (Tristan helped me with this)...

DTW on 12-8....No special dining plan as of yet
MK on 12-9....No special dining plan for this day
CHILL DAY on 12-10.....Kona Cafe for dinner
EPCOT on 12-11.....WISHING for Le Cellier
DHS on 12-12.....No dining plan as of yet
AK on 12-13....Donalds Safari breakfast
HOME :sad2: 12-14

Sounds like I need to do a bit more planning. I'm just so overwhelmed. The resort planning was a breeze. It's the what day we do what, what do we do on those days, which direction do we go in first, worried about not getting on favorite or new rides that are a must, fast passes gone for the day worries, (I worry too much), how am I going to dec out my window, starting packing list now so I don't forget anything, trying to concider everyones feelings and making them happy on each day, blah blah. I know I am forgetting something...

I'm glad I found this board. It's really great to get to know some of those that I will be experiencing this time with. :goodvibes

When you check in let them know your mom is celebrating her birthday and ask for a birthday button for her to wear. That alone will get her extra attention from CM's in the Parks, resorts, etc.

For my daughter they asked who her favorite character was and when we returned from a park, in our room was a surprise from Cinderella.

At your meals when you check in at the podium let them know your mom is celebrating her birthday. (each time too)

I don't want to tell you what will happen, lets just say you won't be sorry you did and always have your camera ready.

First find an ADR Exchange thread for December. People are always announcing that they have ADR's to trade, or even that they are just cancelling ADR's.

Please call everyday, cause for me, I had to do the same thing when we went in August and about 2 weeks before my choice finally became available. Don't give up.

Next click here for park schedules.

decorating windows is easy. You can even bring a strand of lights.

Save yourself some time and trouble and just get christmas color mickey mouse paint chip heads from home depot and tape them to your window.

I made window clings and used window markers and bought a dry erase board from the dollar store that had magnets on it and put that on our door. People wrote us messages and we loved coming back and reading the messages.

Don't forget to breath, cause this is a vacation too. Always leave a day open for spur of the moment decisions that your kids make.

Ask away, I have lots of ideas!

Oh, and I'm from Michigan too. South east of you.

Love the window and door decor!

Just stopping by to say Hello and that I can't wait till December!

Ahhh! I wrote a while ago, but forgot to subscribe! I am back for good. :thumbsup2 A dismeet sounds GREAT, any day from the 15-20 is fine with me except for the 18th because that is when i'm going to MVMCP.:woohoo:

Okay Mony! I'm back over here-thanks for finding me on the Dec. ADRs thread! I am once again planning the Dec. trip to POP after having to cancel an earlier trip. Without all the unnecessary details, I am now planning not only a trip but A Grand Gathering for DH's family! Woo-hoo! we will be there the same days as you, Katiebug, the 15th-20th. I sooooo can't wait! Now I just gotta get someone to cancel LTT for the 15th for 9 people. Otherwise all the ADRs are set.
