We were very surprised when we arrived at MK today that the Pooh ride is already closed for rehab. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Wow...and two days ago...it was open! We just got back last night from Universal/Disney. The wait on the Poohs ride was 70 minutes!! The line was soooo long...we decided to skip it. It wasn't worth our time. Peter Pan was an hour wait...we waited for this is one of my favorite ride. Dumbo wasn't so bad...the wait was about 30 minutes.

Anyway...Sorry that you didn't get the chance to ride the Pooh.

Luckily we did ride it on our first day here. :) Thank goodness!

I know the date is late June for Pooh's reopening.
But when I was able to switch to a Garden/water view at the
CR - the CM told me Pooh would be back open when we arrive
on May 23.

I told my DD that Pooh was closed (she rode it 4 times
last June). My DD was a bit sad :( - but I told it her it was for the safety of those riding in the Pooh pots.
My 7 year old DD thought WDW was doing the right thing ;)

She said she would just have to beat her older brother's score
on Buzz this May.

Anyone else hear about Pooh reopening for Memorial Day
weekend ?

Maybe the CM was just getting my hopes up - or
does magic really happen ?

Well, originally I read that it was closing on May 1, but since it closed today (April 25) then it might be opening back up earlier. :)

We noticed that it was in need of painting when we rode on Tuesday. I assume that's what they're doing. ;)

I hope it is fixed by June 8! That's the date we go back down and I was unable to ride it last year due to the L-O-N-G lines!! Annmarie

I heard that someone got hurt geting on/off and they are making safty changes, DS was in tears when we told him a week ago,( not to mention DW and I) but if there is a safty hazard than it needs to be fixed !! and paint well it will be brighter next visit!:bounce: :bounce:

My 4yo is madly obsessed with the ride. Thankfully the alert and kind folks on this board had posted about the ride going down (from April 25 to June 27) so we headed out there as soon as the park opened on Wednesday and did 6 walk-ons in a row (and grabbed a FastPass for a 7th). Yes, he is sorely obsessed. I was almost hoping for the line to start building so he would move on to something else. Needless to say we have chosen to avoid Magic Kingdom since then this week.

It is definitely unfortunate to take the ride down during a window that includes the tail-end of Spring Break and the first few weeks of summer. Here's hoping they find a way to get it back up earlier than late June.

My daughter works the Pooh ride and I reported a while ago that the last day of operation for Pooh was 4/24th. It will be down til 6/27th.

The refurbishment has to do with installation of safety features.
