Poncho Up, Chicas! DISmoms 5, May 2-6, 2013 Updates Galore 12/9

Great Update !!Drea is quite the Character !!I can imagine her and Kara together:lmao: I have always liked the sound of the bread service at Sanaa , who knows one day !!!

The boys were sooo cute back in the day. Boys are so sweet & cuddly then they hit the awkward & gawky age. Bless them they then become handsome young men.

If anyone can rock pirate Mickey ears meant to fit an 8 year olds head, it is definitely Drea! Sorry about the mom and pop B team at the bar, no fun at all that is!

VERY sad to read about the naan changes. VERY VERY sad. We didn't make it there this summer, won't in Dec and now, well, I'm a bit less motivated, especially if I'm not staying there!

WAH!

Back from the land of Paul Bunyan also k own as n minnesoder . I will have an update soon
WAIT.. Back from the land of Minnesoder.. I though you were IN that land? :confused3

I can't believe I never tried that Dole Whip with the floater- too busy using all my Drinkos on that Rose Slushie, I think! :rotfl: Man, was that thing da bomb or what??
I have never had a DOLE WHIP period... and I really wanted one of those oh well.. next time LOL

Thanks for saying nice things about my NJ peeps- they thought you were all great, too! I think my friends around here think I am a little crazy vacationing with people I have never met before, but you laid their fears to rest by being semi-sane, LOL! :rotfl:
Ya I get crazy looks too when I said I was going vacationing with people I had never met except for online, but then at the same time I am BFF's with some broads I met on line too so I don't get as many odd looks LOL :lmao:

We all got our collective butts together and were on our way to Sanaa for dinner. We did walk there, Drea, and it started pouring right as we arrived! The whole fam was there, and it was great to see them all- I especially could not get over how much Sarah had grown! ::yes:: Ron was very sweet- he was leaving Jen to all of us and taking the kids somewhere else for a couple of hours- thanks Ron!:)
You thought she has grown, last time I had saw her she was a baby in a carrier on a boat ...

Anyway, we got a pager, and walked around to see the animals- but were soon seated. We started out with the bread service- double, so we got all the yummy dips
omg so yummy.. almost like tortilla so you know I loved them LOL

These girlies had a LOT of catching up to do!
ya we haven't seen each other since 2008 on our Disney Cruise!

I celebrated their reunion by enjoying a glass of one of my FAVORITE red wines EVER...
aww aren't you sweet celebrating in our honor LMAO

We did have a nice dinner, though, and can I just say, that Peter is a LUCKY LUCKY man! :rotfl2:
YA HE IS lol

Jen's family was waiting for her when we left the restaurant- I grabbed them and dragged everyone into the bathrooms because they really are so cool (and I know Drea has photos, because I did not take any since I have soooo many times before).
I DO.. oh shnap.. I better look for them LMAO I don't remember taking pics in the potty and that's usually one of my things LOL

We said our goodbyes (and Bon Voyages to them) then stopped in the gift shop quickly before heading outside- we girls hopped on the shuttle back to Jambo (raining again) and Joanie and Peter grabbed a cab back to BCV- so sad to see them go, they were leaving the next day.
Still waiting to hear all about that cruise Jen LOL

But you guys really should have come back with us for a bit, Joanie!
ya there was some great entertainment LOL at my expense LOL

Back at Jambo, we stopped in the store before it was time for Drea's DISmom initiation- which basically involved her channeling her inner-mouse-pirate and heading down to the bar with me for a nite cap. ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
I still crack up:rotfl2:

SOOOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!! Because you KNOW Drea had no problem wearing those pirate mouse ears (Which Timmy and Tyler had been given years ago on the Pirate voyage around Bay Lake). Look how cute they were!
hey in 5yrs when I join again we can do a Throw Back pic of me LMAO

But not tonight. Tonight, our bartenders were mom and Pop B team, and I felt like we were just an annoyance asking for a beer. :confused3
I thought I would get at least someone asking whats with the ears since NO one else at the bar was in Disney attire... maybe a whole swashbuckling group just came thru and swabbed the deck before us El?

And they didn't even notice how cute the mouse pirate was at the bar! No reaction whatsoever. Such a disappointment. Mom and Pop B-Team, I mean. Not this girl- she never disappoints!
that's ok Ill make my own fun!

It was DEFINITELY time for bed, so that's where we headed after a brief tour of the lovely lobby. Tomorrow morning we had BIG plans- starting with the most beloved brekkie in the world- at Kona Cafe! YUMMMMM!!!!!
craving this now too

Great Update !!Drea is quite the Character !!I can imagine her and Kara together:lmao: I have always liked the sound of the bread service at Sanaa , who knows one day !!!
It is true I am, I don't want to disappoint anyone ya know got to keep the fun times going... btw where is that Kara.. I have seen here around these parts in a while???

If anyone can rock pirate Mickey ears meant to fit an 8 year olds head, it is definitely Drea! Sorry about the mom and pop B team at the bar, no fun at all that is!
lol ya either I have a really small head, or your boys have big heads El LOL. Too bad Joe from the Gurgling Suitcase at OKW wasn't a bartender here.. Im SURE he would have had a good time with me (minds out the gutter people lol)

Alright Ill be back.. with pics from the bathroom hopefully :rotfl2: :scared1: :lmao:

Drea is most DEFINITELY a character! Pretty sure she has fear of NOTHING what-so-ever, so she is always up for anything! She's alot of fun!

Sanaa is really good- but they really need to bring back that bread and the green shrimp.

The boys were sooo cute back in the day. Boys are so sweet & cuddly then they hit the awkward & gawky age. Bless them they then become handsome young men.

Thank you- for all of this. So sweet. :goodvibes

It's like they were MADE for her!!! :rotfl: Maybe she needs to go on the pirate cruise! Yo ho yo ho ....

WAH!

Well, the onion kulcha is still really good, and you can ask for all that, if you want- but I find it personally insulting that they think they can serve us naan that all tastes the same and all of us little lemmings will say ok Disney dining Nazi- sure it's all different. :headache: You should have heard the CM we met who used to work there- this person agreed with all of this, actually brought it up, to be honest- the CM said they are ruining the restaurant with all the menu eliminations- is appalled the shrimp is gone and the bread, and so many other things. So it's not just me being a rag, people really do miss the stuff. :confused3

WAIT.. Back from the land of Minnesoder.. I though you were IN that land? :confused3[/COLOR]

Ya- me too! I thought you were always in Minniesoder to begin with???

Ya I get crazy looks too when I said I was going vacationing with people I had never met except for online, but then at the same time I am BFF's with some broads I met on line too so I don't get as many odd looks LOL :lmao:

Thanks, good to know i'm not alone!

It is true I am, I don't want to disappoint anyone ya know got to keep the fun times going... btw where is that Kara.. I have seen here around these parts in a while???

Kara has not been here at all- I don't think she is on the DIS anymore-

Alright Ill be back.. with pics from the bathroom hopefully :rotfl2: :scared1: :lmao:

Ya know, maybe it was Jen who was taking pics in there! If you can't find them, I can post from other visits- I've been in that bathroom plenty- ;)

Looks like a wonderful dinner at Sanaa with great friends! I still need to make my way there sometime.

Love those pirate ears on Drea! :thumbsup2

I almost forgot!! It's Drea's DISmom audition tape!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Click to play-

Go DISmoms....AAARRRGGHHHHHHH!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Great TR!!!

I HAVE to know where you guys got those shirts in your opening paragraph! LOOOVEE them!! I also love Drea's Snow White shirt.... I never find cute Disney stuff unless it costs an arm and a leg at the parks. :(

Yup, I do live in Minnesoder but we drove 4 hours north to visit my parents and to see the might Mississippi headwaters. If you love the Wilderness Lodge, you'd love the Brainerd Lakes area. Very northwoods. Paul Bunyan is from there dontcha know.

back to the TR. Peter was lucky. I know when we were taking the photo in front of spaceship earth , the photographer told us all to stick out are B**bs. hee hee. funny guy--no wonder we had a photo bomber.

The happy hour spread at CL is great.

I was definitely starting to feel my early morning start by the time we go to Sanna. I ordered a sangria and didn't hardly touch it. I can say it wasn't nearly as good as the one at Kouzinna. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the bread service. I agree I miss some of the options they used to have. This menu is very disappointing compared to what it once was. I ordered the buttered chicken. but half way through the meal. I had that "ummm i'm not going to make it if I keep going" feeling so I was done.

I loved seeing Jen again. and I agree little miss sarah is so big, but her other daughter blew me away with how tall she had gotten. How does time go so fast??

So back to the room we went. Since I wasn't feeling too well I decided to stay back with Lonnie and get ready for bed. So as I was falling off to dream land I heard "that barbie she can be such a S****. I was too tired to open my eyes but it was fab the next morning when we had a special visitor.

Breakfast choices...
I had never made it to Kona for breakfast. I always wanted to go but silly family wanted to be in the parks. I love that resort.

Photo bucket is giving me trouble. I'll be back

On Saturday morning, after grabbing a little coffee and juice from the CL lounge right outside our door, we were up and out to our ADR at Kona Cafe- thank you, Lonnie, for driving us over to the poly!

I was taking alot of pics here with my iphone, because I was trying to send them to Barb for the Live food porn thread- and what was happening with that was my battery was running down to nothing, so I ended up having to stop. :( But I am prepared with a back up battery for our trip to DL next month, so jabead, I will be much better sending live food then!:thumbsup2 Here's the menu-

Of COURSE, we had to have some of THIS-

And I am sure you are shocked to see we also had some of this-

I have never had that Bloody Mary at Kona before, so I figured if I was ever going to do it, now was the time. It's a wasabi bloody....but I really didn't care for it, so most of it just sat there- it was made with a mix I think, and I don't usually like those- I like tomato juice or V8 in mine.

Some girls were having mimosas-

Three of us had Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes - Served with Macadamia nut butter, pineapple sauce, and your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. - $10.49

Oh....they are soooooooo yummmmmm!! My favorite pancakes ever. But still, I always have a tough time deciding between them and what lonnie ordered- The Samoan - Poached eggs with Hollandaise served over smoked pulled pork hash - $9.99

It is also so ono. :goodvibes Our server took our pic- see our shirts? Thank you Drea!! :lovestruc

We were happy girls enjoying a delicious taboo-carbs laden breakfast. YAY US!!!

After breakfast, we decided to drive back to AKV so Lonnie could stop driving us around, and we would just take the bus over to AK for the day. But on the way out, one more photo from the lovely Poly....

I can't WAIT until they build that DVC there- I have been DYING to stay at the poly my whole life!! :thumbsup2

Up next- what are those school groups clogging up now???

She wore them sooo well! :)

Great update! :goodvibes

Thank you!

Great TR!!!

Thanks!

Drea can give you the details on them- she made them for us, but I think she had to beg for them, if I remember correctly. We all LOVED them, and were so glad she begged!!

those were the photos I was trying to load. I loved the pancakes but the eggs looked sooooo yummy.

LOL!!! Barbie's a S***!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2: I came out to get a glass of water for bed, and there's drea at 12:30 am...playin' with her dolls! :rotfl2: The best was her expression- she was not expecting to get caught in the act... Soooooo funny!

I think that brekkie works best when you share. ;) Too hard to love just one of those things, and who can finish all those pancakes anyway?

I celebrated their reunion by enjoying a glass of one of my FAVORITE red wines EVER....Missing Virgin Pinotage-Petit Verdot from South Africa- it is described as a rich full bodied wine with hints of blueberries and fruit cake. And while I can't vouch for having tasted any fruitcake in the glass, i can vouch for its EXTREME yumminess on all counts! :thumbsup2

Just made a note of this one on my phone so I can go look for it.

Mike and I just returned from a trip to the Finger Lakes wine region. 30 plus wineries in 3 days. I bought about 50 bottles and stocked the wine cellar (a.k.a - our basement closet). So, what's one more bottle, really?

Cool! The finger lakes are great! Pods and I went for our 10th anniversary- stayed in watkins glen at a b&b called the reading house. Hired a limo for the day and went to wineries, then the chauffer pretended to marry us again when we got back to the inn- he was a justice of the peace. I still have flowers growing in my garden that the proprietors gave me when we ended our stay- such a lovely couple, lovely town- great hiking in the gorge.... Where did you stay? Where did you go? Did ya pick up any reisling from j weimer? :)

I love reading about your adventures. I have been reading; it has just been a busy summer and I have not had time to post. Keep up the good work ladies. We busy folks need to be able to vacation vicariously through you.

Kate

I think I need to try the Samoa, that looks GOOD!

Actually it all looks good. Even breakfast looks better on vacation.
