PolynesianBride'sPJ 12/6/10 Sunset Pointe- TEASER PICS UP!

Day 2 Continued… Afternoon in MK

So when we arrived in the Magic Kingdom the “Celebrate You” parade was going on which just seemed very fitting for Jodi’s Disney celebration. It was a very cute parade!

Our favorite part of the parade was this lady who was a Disney employee but not technically part of the parade. I’ve never worked at Disney so I don’t know all the lingo but I guess I would call her a CM- she had on the navy vest and pants and I think her job was just to walk along next to the parade and make sure everyone stayed out of the way (atleast that’s what the rest of the people in her uniform seemed to be doing). Anyways, she was middle aged and overweight but she was just dancing her way down Main Street like she was the main performance. She was just radiating joy and happiness and it was contagious! Loved her!

After the way we made our way through Tomorrow Land and made it on all the attractions with no problems- maybe a 30 minute wait for Space Mountain and that was our longest wait the entire trip! We made a quick stop in Toon Town and Jodi found a pic of the cow she fell in love with from the MVMCP parade the night before. I have since researched this cow and found out her name is Clara Bell.

Then we decided to get a snack, Jodi got a funnel cake and I ordered a root beer float… I was really confused when they handed me this…
DSC02187.jpg

Based on the color I thought they must have put strawberry ice cream in my root beer float- EEWWWWWW but they assured me that it was only pink in color and that it was vanilla flavored and it was. Jodi’s funnel cake was really good too…

We made our way through Fantasy Land…

Then got our names embroidered on our ears. We had way too much fun trying on hats while we were waiting…

So I thought a trip to the wishing well was due. I had actually never been there so we asked in the hat store but they didn’t seem to know what I was talking about… luckily we were literally just around the corner so we found it right away- seriously how do these people work right there and not know where the wishing well is!
DSC02184.jpg

So we made our wishes and we wandered into one little store that I think was called Tinker Bell’s Treasures or something like that. The lady in this store was too much fun- she asked if we were in need of some pixie dust and of course we said YES! She then proceeded to sprinkle us with pixie dust while saying “All you need is faith and trust… and a little bit of pixie dust” and wishing us lives full of magic and love.

Now we were washing glitter out of our hair for the next 3 days but it was so cute! Jodi kept sayin “I’m still finding that silly pixie dust… I’m still working on the faith and trust but I’m getting there”.

Finally our hats were done- I’m pretty sure they messed mine up initially bc I had taken the price tag off my hat before and when I picked it up there was a price tag on it again. The only reason I cared was bc the new hat’s elastic strap was really uncomfortable for some reason.

We made our way over to Adventure Land and were basically able to finish everything we hadn’t seen in the MK. We really managed to do it all… the only things we really missed were that we didn’t ride the train, the go-karts, see the tiki bird show, carousel of progress, or the hall of presidents. But I still thought we did really well!

We had dinner at Colombia Harbor House (my favorite counter service). We had fish and chips and clam chowder- YUM!

By the time we were done it was almost time for the parade, we still managed to get on Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain for one last time. Then it was time for the parade and fireworks and the night was done.

Up next… Day 3 Animal Kingdom in the morning followed by Epcot in the afternoon!

I just ordered my wedding shoes! Here they are:

Even though I really love colored wedding shoes I just don't think they will work with my dress. But I still think these are a little bit unique and fun so I'm excited! I saw these in a store several months ago and LOVED them but at that time they didn't come in white:sad2: However today I found them in white:banana::banana:

Awesome! they are perfect! :thumbsup2

Great shoes!! It looks like you guys have a great time. Glad to hear it.

Glad you both like them! I'm a little nervous that they won't be comfortable but we'll have to see when they get here. I am a little frustrated bc I have requested a swatch of my dress material twice now and haven't received one. So I called yesterday and the lady on the phone tried to tell me that "it just takes awhile"- I kindly told her that I ordered my dress LAST MAY... so she had the manager call me. The manager said that the designer has been very behind so they have not received them despite multiple requests but that she finally decided to purchase a yard of material since so many brides are waiting and is going to cut it into swatches:upsidedow So I will hopefully have a swatch soon so I can see if my shoes match up ok!

I really think those shoes will be perfect with your dress! The flower is just enough! Congrats on finding them!:woohoo: I seriously can't believe you still don't have a dress swatch!! That's RIDICULOUS! I will say that as long as the shoes are within a few shades you will be fine. It is near impossible to find an exact match so I'm sending you more of that pixie dust you guys got at Tink's Treasures in hopes it'll all be good! :tink:

Oh! And I agree- that rootbeer float is creepy!!:rotfl:

Adelia,

Wow,I haven't been on the boards in a super long time!!! I finally decided to get on here and get caught up, so I came over to your pj first!! Your trip looked like so much fun, and you got to see pretty much everything!! That pink root beer float is too weird...was that cause it's Christmastime or something?? I am glad you got to go to MVMCP, it's so much fun!!! The castle is so pretty at Christmastime!!

I love the shoes that you have picked out! Hopefully you can also fine the pearls that you like....Looking forward to hearing more....I am going to try to update my PJ soon, so keep an eye out for it!!

Love your pj this is so interesting! My DF and I feel the same way about sunset point. We would like to get married there in Dec 2011. My only concern is the weather in December, it seems comfortable from the view of your pics from this last December. I'm also from Michigan and I've never been in December before.

Do they do weddings at SP in December? I thought they only did them there from May to October or something like that. I may be wrong though ;)

Actually, you have that backwards. They only use it from October to March because of the heat. :thumbsup2

But everything looks great Adelia! :goodvibes Hopefully that swatch arrives soon!

Ah right!!! Thanks for the info. Not the first time I have got things wrong (and I am sure not the last either!!!):crazy2:

Oh, I love the shoes you ended up picking! And that pink root beer float is super creepy!
Thanks! Sadly the shoes didn't end up working, they weren't very comfortable and the slingback kept slipping off the back of my heel :confused3 so I ended up returning them. They were gorgeous though. Your wedding is soooo soon, I was looking for you while we were in Disney this week- I couldn't remember what day you were arriving! Can't wait to hear all about your time!

And guess what- it's been FOREVER since I last posted and I STILL don't have a swatch. Like you said it's going to be impossible to get a perfect match anyways so I'm not stressing it. As I mentioned above the shoes didn't end up fitting well so I have resumed the search, but now I'm thinking about going barefoot:confused3

Maybe it does have to do with the seasons! This last week we were in Disney and I noticed the ice cream in the root beer floats was a very pale purple... and it was Easter:idea: Stay tuned bc I did find jewelry I like so will be posting it soon!

YAY! Another Sunset Point fan from Michigan! I have been the past 2 Decembers now and it has been ok. December usually isn't rainy which is a big part of the reason we decided on that month- I do not want to end up in a conference room!!!!! The skies are usually kind of grey which is disappointing to me but as long as it doesn't rain i'm happy:goodvibes The temp is usually mid-70's during the day and upper-50's at nite, which DF loves bc he hates the heat. As long as you don't mind jeans and a sweatshirt at night you should be fine.

Do they do weddings at SP in December? I thought they only did them there from May to October or something like that. I may be wrong though ;)
With all the rules Disney has it is hard to keep it all straight isn't it? As Sarah said though it's the summer that they don't use this site:upsidedow

Actually, you have that backwards. They only use it from October to March because of the heat. :thumbsup2

But everything looks great Adelia! :goodvibes Hopefully that swatch arrives soon!
Thanks! Still no swatch but there's not much I can do... thinking of possibly going barefoot- that matches!

Hello Ladies! Thanks for all of you who are still hanging in there with me! We spent the past wonderful week at Disney and I have TONS of updates! I am currently in Orlando- our flight was supposed to leave this evening but our flight was overbooked so we took a voluntary bump. They were offering $400 flight voucher/person, dinner and breakfast vouchers, and to put us up in a hotel- I don't have to be back to work til Tuesday night so the offer was too good to pass up! We also got upgraded to 1st class for our flight tomorrow:banana: We are now lounging at the Hilton Garden Inn which is very nice! I'm not going to do a full trip report of our past week (since I never managed to finish the last one I was working on:laughing:) but I will give you the highlights and anything I think would be pertinent to anyone's wedding trips!

THE MOST IMPORTANT UPDATE IS:

WE GOT OUR DATE!

:banana::banana:We are getting married Monday, December 6, 2010 at Sunset Point at 2:30 pm!!!!!:banana::banana:

We also were able to book our MK and Epcot photoshoot for Friday Dec 10 at 6 am. This was not my first choice bc I'm afraid my flowers will be so dead by that time that not even a refresh will be able to save them. However, only the 5 am slots were open on the other days and I wanted to have a few pics with some sunlight in them (sunrise is at 7:05 am). So I will start the search for some good silks to make a replica with!

Now that I actually have stuff to post you should be seeing more of me- now I'm off to catch up on all your PJ's!

Yay Congrats! Since we will be there during that time, I will stalk your wedding!

Congrats for getting your date!!! I totally agree with you on the Colombia Harbor House being the best counter service looking at your picture made me hungry.

YAY!!! Congrats on getting your date Adelia! :) P.S. I am so totally jealous of all your recent Disney trips!
