Would like to know which areas contain the standard rooms. Trying to decide whether to blow all the cash to stay here.

Touring plans has good maps of where the room types are located. Be sure to check out the poly thread in this forum. There is a lot of construction going on right now and you can end up with a pretty abysmal standard view.

When is the construction expected to be complete? We want to stay there, but saw pictures on another thread & the view was horrible!! Looking to stay a few nights next October.

For the same price as a standard view room I would recommend booking a deluxe studio - standard view if possible. These are DVC rooms which are on the opposite side of the resort away from construction. This is what we are doing for our trip in February.

Stayed at the Poly last week and although we had an upgraded view, my brother had a standard view in 3rd floor north-facing in Rarotonga. They could see the higher portion of the MK fireworks. I'd certainly vouch for requesting that area even though there's certainly no guarantee.

Regarding the construction, it did not impact our stay whatsoever, but it's still very early in the construction phase right now. In my opinion the current notice on the Poly page on Disney's website is not adequate ("you will see and hear construction at certain times of day") warning if they are indeed renting rooms that directly face the construction. I would not accept such a room without heavy heavy HEAVY discount with the current notice they have posted.

I'm assuming you are staying cash and not DVC. I would avoid Poly next year. The DVC Poly tower is right in the middle of the cash rooms, and it is a BIG construction project.

After my nightmare of a construction Grand Floridian room, I don't play with Disney construction anymore.

Thank you so much. I have reconsidered.

Thanks. I will look into that.
