Except Ft Wilderness is not a DVC resort. It just happens to be one that Disney is opening along with the DVC resorts.

OKW has only three buildings with an elevator and they are usually reserved for medical needs. But the rooms on average are the largest of all the DVC resorts. You can hop any bus from any bus stop and arrive at the Hospitality House area (last bus stop). Then you just walk over to the Peninsular Rd bus stop and hop any bus back to your area. DVC studios don't have burners to cook on, but they do have microwave ovens and undercounter refrigerators (plus a toaster and coffee pot).
Are there bus stops at each group of buildings? Do you have to take a bus to the Hospitality House to get a bus to a park? I need to look at the map.

FW is one of our favorites but you have to like that type of atmosphere. The privacy and size of the cabins are great, overall fun location, lots to do but it is an outdoorsy kind of place and you are pretty much on your own. We enjoy that but I know some people need a lobby, need room service, need cast members. FW is not that but you might be surprised how much you do enjoy a different experience. Golf carts, trading posts, campfires, hoop dee doos are pretty great

If I read it correctly, you're all adults so I voted SSR for the access to Disney Springs with the outside entertainment along with food, etc.
Has anyone heard when the outdoor entertainment is likely to resume at Disney Springs? I don't know if that will happen in time for your stay.

We own at both OKW and SSR. When we go to Disney World we stay at OKW for at least half of our trip and use our SSR points to try to stay somewhere else for the second half. If we were forced to stay at SSR we would be fine, but we don’t prefer to. OKW has two beds in their studios, has bigger rooms, and has a wonderful beach theme. The only downside for us is the quick service is a bit lacking. There is a boat to Disney Springs so all that dining is open to you and Olivia’s sit down restaurant at the resort is delicious and rarely crowded. The resort is big but you can try to request a building that is a closer walk to hospitality house (the hospitality house category will likely already be long booked) and there is an internal bus, much like CBR.

Another vote for OKW. The place just has a 'home' feel. The larger rooms are always a big plus. And the boat to DS is such a nice ride. For us, it's almost as simple as the walk over from SS.

There is a bus stop for each of the clusters of buildings. Peninsular Rd is the first stop (near Bldg 27), South Point is next (near Bldg 52), Turtle Pond (near Bldg 33), Millers Road (near Bldg 19) with the final stop at the Hospitality House for the theme parks. The internal bus which is also the DS bus, stops both first and last at the HH before leaving the resort.

Thank you!

We will definitely try to get a reservation at Olivia’s if it is open. I have only read good reviews on it.

I’ve stayed at both SSR and OKW (FW cabins are not DVC and should not be confused with the Cascade Cabins at Copper Creek). Of the two, I would pick OKW because every villa was recently renovated, the studios have 2 real beds and the 1BR & 2BR villas are huge.

Ok thank you, yes I know FW is not DVC. I guess I should of titled it differently.

I don’t like the lack of elevators at OKW.
Several of the newest building that have them, and there have been times we requested access to an elevator or a lower floor - have had the elevator buildings twice - but of course, the request is not guaranteed. But you are right, and it's definitely a recognized mistake after they built the resort. They will work with folks who don't want to tackle the steps to the 2nd or 3rd floors.
