I have seen all of them except Beauty and the Beast.

My vote would be for Rent, because it's my favorite musical and I love the show on stage - it's so full of energy! I've seen Rent performed 4 times by touring groups, and my dream is to see it in its "home" on Broadway. I've never been a huge fan of the music in Phantom, but that's the one I would see if you really wanted to see an amazing stage show with the sets, props, and costumes. I loved the Chicago movie, and I enjoy the music, but I saw it on stage last year and I was really disappointed. It really was very dark and minimalist. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't seen the movie, because I wasn't prepared for how different it was going to be on stage.

I've not seen them all, but if you've never seen Phantom of the Opera, that's what I'd suggest. IMO, everyone should see it once!

Oh wow...four great choices! I don't think I'd be able to pick! I think I'd pick Rent or Beauty and the Beast. I love the music of Phantom, but the actual show kind of bored me. Chicago, I love the music also, but have never seen the show.

Rent is kind of my favorite of the moment, but I'd love to see Beauty & the Beast too...

I think I'd have to go with Rent!

Have a great time! Let us know what you picked.

Phantom of the Opera would be my first pick
and Beauty and the beast would be my second!!!!

Hmmm....tough choice. I absolutely LOVE Rent! It is great.....the music is wonderful and the storyline is very powerful. With that being said, of course I would say go for that one! But if this will be one of those one and only times you will get to see a Broadway show, I might have to slightly say go see Phantom for the feeling of seeing such an amazing set and play and wonderful music. while RENt is my all time favorite, the set is not dramatic as other shows (which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it!). Beauty and the Beast is good....but honestly doesn't really give me that "amazing" feeling that the other two did. chicago was good, but wouldn't be my first pick.

But no matter which you go see.....enjoy yourself!!! (by the way, not to single any one person out, but I can't believe that someone actually said that RENT was "dreadful"!!!!! Just the storyline alone, defined and changed an entire generation!) by the way, check out my quote at the bottom......if you know anything about RENT, you can tell that I am a true fan!!!!!

I've seen them all and they're all very, very worthwhile. Are these absolutely your only choices? Because I'd hate for you to miss something wonderful like Wicked, or The Producers, or Spamalot! Or Lion King, which I think is better than all of these put together! Have a great trip!

OH! If you are throwing Wicked into the mix, I would say DEFINITELY go see that!!!!!!

I agree with the above posters Wicked is the best production I have seen, the others are good, but Wicked is amazing!
