Poll- most overated and underated rides in disneyland?

I think one of the most overrated rides would have to be Soarin' over California. While very enjoyable, I just don't understand the hype around it. *ducks for cover*

Welcome to the boards, Soarin' hater!;) JK, I won't throw anything.

I think TSMM is overrated. Its fun, yes, but not fabulous and definitely not worth the wait on either coast.

Yes! Sweet validation.

Underrated: I have to agree with others about Casey Jr. However, I also feel the same way about Pinocchio and Snow White...and fortunately for me, they all often have very short lines. Pinocchio and Snow White are the 2 rides that I feel most nostalgic about.

Overrated: People are probably going to hunt me down and shoot me over this one, but I'm really starting to feel like Peter Pan is becoming seriously overrated. It's cute, yes - and has been one of my favorites for years...I love looking down at the little lights below and I even like the queue (can't explain *why* (lol), but I do...but honestly, watching the drama and full-on sprinting that occurs at rope-drop for this ride, making it a 40 minute wait if you're not willing to run like a track star to get to it (I mean...really?)...has brought me to a point where I now feel like it's overrated for what it is.

Underrated: King Arthur's Carousel. I know, I know, you can ride a carousel anywhere right? True. But this to me is the most special carousel anywhere and is right at the heart of everything. So much to see and so beautiful with so much history. Must be the mom in me talking.

It's my favorite ride!!!!! I could go to Disneyland and ride just that and be perfectly content.

I do think Casey Jr. and Storybook Canal are underrated too. I just love them! And I know lots of people can't stand Autopia, but I just love seeing how excited my daughter gets when she gets to "drive." So cute!

As for overrated, I can't think of one. There are plenty I won't ride, but that's because I'll get sick.

By far, I think the most underrated attraction (not ride) at DLR is the Animation Building at DCA. So much fun things to do and people just walk right by it all the time!

I also think It's Tough to be a Bug is way underrated because nobody goes to it anymore. Granted, it's over 10 years old at DCA, but I think it's leaps and bounds above MuppetVision and Captain EO...

For overrated I think Mickey's Fun Wheel. It always has a long line and people seem to have very strong opinions about "the wheel of death", but even the swinging buckets just get a "meh" from me.

Rides are so subjective: POTC is the best along with, Soarin, and Screamin.

IASW drives me crazy with the music, but the rest of the family enjoys.

Been going a long time so I do not make DLR black and white..I do prefer 1911 .45 cal over 9's but that is just me.

Jack

Along the same lines as the Storybook boats, I think the Jungle Cruise is one of the most underrated rides. I love the cheesy jokes the skippers tell and it's even more fun at night in my opinion.

I'm in agreement with a couple others about Soarin', that's the most overrated in my opinion. When I'm on my own I don't ride it and if I'm with a group I only agree to FP it because I refuse to wait in an hour plus line for it.

I think that's what's great about DL though is that there are different things that appeal to everyone.

Most overrated? Definitely Roger Rabbit over in Toontown. I really did not find that worth it's hype.

Most underrated? Maybe not a ride, but it was the Animation Academy in DCA. This was one of the coolest experiences we had at the resort. Definitely deserves more credit!

Soarin' and Pirates are 2 of the only rides I WILL stand in line for!!

I forgot about Animation Academy! That is definitely underrated; it's one of the highlights of our trips, and we always go several times.

I think the holiday version of the Haunted Mansion is overrated. We only go at Christmas now, so it is one thing that makes me sad as I really like the regular Haunted Mansion.

... Or maybe (gasp!) Its a Small World.

Most overrated -- IASW. You ride along in a boat while the same song plays over and over and watch little figures bob around. I don't get it.

... IASW drives me crazy with the music, but the rest of the family enjoys. ...
IASW is not to be confused with the "Little Land of Duff" ride at Duff Gardens. :goodvibes

I say under rated but I may mean under marketed... If thats a word, Billy Hill and the Hillbillys. This I'd such a great show but when I talk to people who have been to DLR many times they have no idea about this show

Underrated: Casey Jr. Circus Train. After visiting Disneyland umpteen times since 1975, I rode this for the first time about 3 years ago. What a cute little ride with a catchy song! I can't believe I had passed it by all those years.

Overrated: It's A Small World. Unfortunately kids love it, so we get stuck riding it every time.

Most overrated of all time: Rocket Rods. Thankfully after 6 months, Disney thought so too. That's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

Underrated: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and other Fantasy land rides like the Boats. I never understand the shorter lines on Snow White (though of course I'm grateful!) ;) And I also love It's a Small World... the song never bugs me. But then, I only go once every 3 years so that could be why.

Also, the Dapper Dans are amazing and I feel they are underrated too!

Overrated: Soarin'... I try and try to be impressed by it but am not :( I just can not separate myself from the fact that I'm looking at a screen. :confused3 ESPECIALLY when the screen abruptly flips to another scene (like changing a channel on a TV) that makes it even more apparent. Also; the theme of flying over California seems somewhat dull to me, but then that's because I personally prefer things to be more out of this world in theming. I like to escape from the world at Disneyland, not see more of it. If they were soaring through some kind of fantasy/mythological realms I would like it a lot more.

Overated hands down Pirates. Even though better than Disneyworld because of the second drop, I just find it quite boring. I remember how disappointing it was the first time I rode it. It was a let down. I just think that there is not enough thrill in what I guess is considered an e ticket attraction.

Pirates may not be a thrilling ride, but the detail and the scope of the interior of that attraction is still impressive. I think it's more popular from a nostalgic standpoint than from an exciting standpoint.

Underrated: Tea Cups...yes, it's a simple ride but there is never a line for it.

Overrated: Finding Nemo subs (boring), and WoC (when you include the process of waiting in line and standing during the whole show...it's not worth it to see movie clips played on water, which you can see during Fantasmic plus much more).

thats tuffim gona say,

underated: jungle cruise, alot of fantasyland, iwould love the return of swiss family robinson tree house! only a matter of time before they remake this movie IMO, tarzan just doesnt do it for me

overated: IASW, rogerabbit, storyland boats, inovations thing, nemo

In DCA I feel like Monsters, Inc. is underrated. I love that ride and can't believe how short (or non existent) the lines are. Is it the park? The area it's tucked away in? I feel like if it were in Fantasyland it would have lines out the wazoo.

I think Little Mermaid would eventually end up being the same level of interest as Monsters if it didn't have the good location that it has.

If disney had made an area in DCA like Fantasyland and put these type rides there would be swarms of families there too.

But maybe it's best this way so people are spread out. Just as long as there is enough interest to keep these rides open for years to come. I'm also a bit disappointed and surprised to see how few go to ITTBAB now. It's a really great show.

underrated: Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters. We *love* this attraction and I'm surprised the lines aren't longer when compared to say, TSMM. :confused3

I say under rated but I may mean under marketed... If thats a word, Billy Hill and the Hillbillys. This I'd such a great show but when I talk to people who have been to DLR many times they have no idea about this show
Totally agree!

i would love the return of swiss family robinson tree house! ... tarzan just doesnt do it for me
Agree. I really miss the SFR version of the tree.

Over rated.....Autopia
I agree. I don't think it's a bad ride, but it always surprises me how long the line is for what it is.

Ditto on the regular vs. holiday version of HH as well as the Animation Academy!

I do prefer 1911 .45 cal over 9's but that is just me.
Wait... what just happened? Are you talking about guns/bullets now? :rotfl:
.

Storybook canal boats, is the one ride I don't get the appeal over. A bunch of small houses everywhere? The best part was riding through the whales mouth! The rest was so boring we couldn't wait to get off! By the looks of the long line I'd say it's overrated!

Toontown is overrated as well. It's cute, but not enough to it.

I think Monsters Inc. is underrated. Such a cute ride.
