Polar Patios worth it?

If you have reserved a polar patio in the summer before, I'd love to know if you thought it was worth the price and if you would rent one again? What benefit(s) did you find that really made it worth while?

We’ve done the Polar Patios a few times. It’s splurgy of course, but generally speaking we enjoy them. I like having the dedicated/secure “home base” for the day with some shade (note, while most of pretty shady, there are variations in locations). The locker is a plus for valuables, as is the ice water/cups (they used to bring a cooler filled with Dasani bottles but the ice water is now in a large dispenser).

The attendant is nice to have for drinks and food, but in my experience the attendants often have a number of cabanas so food/drink service can be a little slow at times. Sometimes (especially in this new era of mobile ordering) it’s just easier to handle things yourself. But sometimes it can be very handy as well!

I probably rate the price as a little high compared to the value you get (very subjective of course), but for the right group type/water park style guests, I think it can be worth it.

It’s a personal decision and depends a lot on how you spend your day at the water parks. We spend so little time at our seats/loungers that for us the money could be better used elsewhere.

I loved it when we got it last time. The cushiony chairs were a great place to relax, have a drink or lunch in the shade, and re-apply sunscreen throughout the day. After all the walking at the parks the days before it felt so good to just put my feet up a bit. There is a locker right there in your patio so you don't have to trek back to the lockers near the entrance if you need one. The locker also has phone charges inside--super handy! Our attendant gave us the option of making our water "spa" water with cucumbers and lime--we did and it was so refreshing.

The only minus I would say is we did find the attendant service a bit slow both times we tried to order drinks from him we waited for them over 30 mins and felt a bit foolish because there were bars pretty much everywhere and we could have had a drink in five mins if we did it ourselves. Of course, live and learn--I'd say the attendant was not a really key part of the experience, the accommodations were what was so nice.

We have not done a patio, but did do a cabana at Typhoon lagoon several years ago. It was nice because my mom and at that time 2 year old niece were with us. It was easier for mom to stay relaxed and baby got to nap more comfortably. That being said we had a similar experience about 10 years before that by just finding a set of chairs in a shady area.

I forgot to mention, the polar patio rental included refillable drink mugs you could use anywhere at Blizzard Beach too. With Covid you showed your mug and they gave you a paper cup of fountain drink that you poured into your mug. Great for me because I am a diet coke addict. The mugs were nice and I took a couple home as a souvenir (could have kept them all per our attendant but didn’t want to take up the suitcase space). There is a cooler in your patio where you keep your drinks chilled while you go on slides.
