I am convinced that these are some fashion designers revenge on another who had wide feet, as I do. Maybe someone who stole her/his boyfriend?I swear it. These things, I just can not wear. WHen are they gonna be gone...What do y'all think?

In People magazine today a fashion page on round toe pumps -- the retro look coming back. I think those pointy toes shoes are so stupid looking, but then again I only wear flats ever. I work in a school, I"m on my feet and up and down stairs all day long so I wear Birkenstocks and LandsEnd slip on shoes.

I don't have any and am still in my backless clog type shoes from a few years back. I can't do the pointy toes. If you watch, "What Not to Wear" on TLC, you'll see that's what they put all the women in for their makeover.

I bought my first pointy toed shoes this summer and I have to say

1. They're pretty comfortable
2. They made my feet and legs look so slim and feminine
3. They look so dressy

Now for the other side of the shoe... the round toed shoes:

1. They look clunky and heavy on me
2. They're very very comfortable
3. They're perfect for my wide feet
4. They make me feel like a duck sometimes

So... which shoes are the winner?

Both! Cause I love them both!!!!!:)

you make an excellent point they do. but on one episode i watched they told a lady who had wide feet to get the flats with rounded toes because they would make her feet look smaller or something of that sort. i wonder why they put all women in those pointy shoes i mean they look cute and everything but what if you can't wear them? i want a pair but dont know what to wear them with and my feet are wide also so i stick to the comfy shoes.

I think that the obvious MEN that designed them need to WEAR them!

Give me square toed shoes any day. Don't like the rounded ones either. If I wear the horrid pointy ones, my feet look like they go on forever!

Hate them, will not wear them...ever.
I am 5'7', wear a size 8, have a fairly fat foot. Sorry, no can do...

Uncomfortable shoes are just plain silly. My friend, who just moved to Austin from NYC, is always wearing these crazy heels. I just don't get it. Give me a pair of Clarks any day.

I like pointy toes! And I am not one who follows trends at the drop of a hat, I like the basics and classic looks. I agree w/ Oogie boogie, they create a nice line with your legs, and can make even jeans look dressy. I think the key is to wear pointy toes that are not too long (so not as narrow) and to wear a heel that is not so high. I found some great ones that are comfortable, don't have the "witch" look toe point. They have the tiniest little heel, but are basically flats. From Aldo (love that store!), very comfy.

Don't like round toes, make my feet look funny and I don't think they're very cute. Saw the People magazine section, and although those ladies are all beautiful, I thought the shoes were icky even if they did match!

Love square toes, and althought right now they aren't as "in" as pointy toes, they're still a popular/common style. So no worries, square to lovers!

Love them! Think there classy, sexy and so fashionable. Love the dressed-up look they give to everything, including tight-leg jeans.

Now I may love them, but my feet are saying, "Not again, At our age we just can't squeeze into them"

I think the rounded toes are in right now.

As for the pointy ones. I try them on and they feel and look awful. I never buy them. And I think women that do buy them will be lining up for foot surgery years from now.

I WOULD be wearing them except that I have broken my little toe at least 4 times and have a bone chip and arthritis in it. I am religated to flats or clogs or reall wide shoes with tiny heels. I have however noticed that LIz Clayborn has some that are do-able. The point starts AFTER your toes and the toe box is really kind of wide(I am a shoeaholic so I know all the terms). I asked my foot doctor who wanted to operate, if I would be able to wear heels again and he just looked at me as if I was asking him to murder someone or as if I wanted to do a makeover on the Mona Lisa.

I just love them. I am also one who runs out and buys all the trends. Yes, they do sometimes make your feet look alittle longer then normal, but when wearing them with jeans or a slightly flair legged slack, they can dress up an outfit. They don't always have a high heel, I have a few pairs with the kitten heel and they are comfortable. There just a fun look with some style. I also have a few pairs of the ballarina round toe flats that are coming out now and while there comfy too, they don't make your feet look sexy like the pointed toe shoes.

I'm not a shoe person at all, especially heels. I hate them. Probably because I'm about 5'8" and hate towering over people. I get by in the summer with a couple pairs of slides for work (usually if I find something I like, I'll buy it in black, tan, brown). In the winter, I'm all boots at work. Home is sneakers or flip flops.

I'd much rather be comfortable than fashionable.

I'd rather be barefoot.....but since I'm in a metro area, it's just not possible. So I stick to my sneakers. For dress up times, it's slides in the summer, flats in the winter. I haven't even tried on a pair of pointy toed shoes because I know they'll drive me crazy.

my mom and aunts always wore pointed toe shoes when they were younger and now all have foot problems...

I just can't see the point of pointed shoes (ha!)... you have about an inch of nothing on the front of your foot that your toes don't fit into??? Me~I'd be tripping over them, flip flops and sneakers for me!!
