Points..transfer some and banking the rest?

Can you transfer points from your current use year to another member and then bank the rest into your next use year? I think the answer is yes, but I'm double checking because .......well.....I'm just a double checker

We're going to do a Disney cruise on cash next fall and then use the banked points for our associated DVC resort stay.

I am a wee bit nervous even though we did the same thing a couple years ago......in light of recent disconcerting threads. Thanks for your help!
