Points Transfer Question?

If I have points transferred to my account with a different UY and home resort than those that i own, will they maintain their UY and home resort for booking purposes???

I think the answer to that is yes.

Well, the system MS uses is imperfect, and frequently confusion arises after points transfers. The points do keep their original home resort (tho sometimes you have to insist that they do it manually, or fix it when the original home resort disappears). As for the Use Year, I believe the theory is that the points change to your UY, at least they did for the point transfers (*2) that I received last year.

I will check on this tomorrow with MS. I just got another point transfer (VB) that I intend to use next February. My UY is Feb, while the points' UY was originally Oct. MS put the points into my 2005 UY; I expect will need to bank them to use them in Feb '06, even tho they would have been good in Feb '06 in their original UY. I'll let you know then.

Sounds like youhave done the points transfer thing before so I will ask you a question if I may?

For points transfer, which method/process have you fond to work best for payment and transfer, it sounds like there must be a little more coordination than standarrd rental? i.e. no reservation to hold as colateral etc.

In spite of what the written rules say transferred points almost always assume the home resort of the contract transferred in to and frequently the new use year as well. It's possible for DVC to track the home resort manually but it takes a couple of days and you might miss out on the 11 month critical reservations in doing so.
