point transfers

Hi Everyone,

I am considering doing a point transfer for a non-DVC friend........and then making her ressies, etc........i have read all kinds of threads regarding transfers, but still have a couple of questions:

1. I have a Juneuy.........her trip is planned for 4/05....does it matter what the use year of the transferor is?

2. Can a memeber only transfer into his/her account once in a use year? Or is it that you can only do it in one direction, but as many times as you need to?

3. I would also like to do a transfer for myu brother, inJanuary, for a Dec 05 trip. Would both of these be possible?

if she is a non-member you can't do a point transfer

however you can definitely make her a reservation

I would go make the April one now. If you don't have enough points in your current year - you can borrow for next year.

you make the reservation in your guest name. (this must be done or the front desk won't allow them to check in). the same name as used on the ID that represented to both the guards and the front desk.

make your brother reservation for Dec - as soon as you can in January - Dec is a very popular month with DVC's.

You can only transfer points from DVC member to another DVC member.

just making a reservation for your friends/family is much, much easier.

You can transfer points multiple times throughout your use year. You can only go one direction however, in or out.

1. As long as the points will be valid at the time of the reservation, the Use Year is unimportant.

2. You may transfer either into or out of your account as many times as needed during a Use Year. You may NOT transfer in and out during the same year however.

3. Yes, you can transfer enough points into your account for both transactions.

As suggested, you could also borrow from your June05 Use year for the April reservation and borrow from your June06 Use Year for the December reservation- if desired.

Sounds like you're being very generous to family and friends by sharing DVC with them!
