Morning all.

Weird day here. Came into the office this morning to find the boss had put up a cardboard blockade of the kitchen, writing: "The kitchen is CLOSED. I am sick of cleaning up after children."

Doesn't affect me too much, as I keep my own flatware and tableware in my office, but I would have liked to use the mircowave and toaster today. Guess I will be eating cold tamales for lunch.

Hope you all are having a good day.

We have similar problems in our buildings. Usually related more to refridgerators and spoiled food.

In my building, which is a small renovated cabin (with resident ghost) we have no plumbing so we are very careful with food. No coffee pot and use disposable flatware. We also make sure that food trash goes out every night so we do not have any late night party animals visiting us.

Here in the library, the "kitchen" is one end of the public meeting. The meeting room has no locking doors.

More than once, people (teens?) have stolen our food. Once it my leftover casserole. We found the empty food container in the book stacks with the dried remains. Another time someone stole little dollar size Hagen Daz ice cream.

We now have locks on the refrigerator. For some reason, the library trustees do not like locks on the fridge. Perhaps they they think it looks like we do not trust people in the community.

DUH!

Happy Tuesday folks! :wave2:

Well done in the garden :flower3: I think you should call the bunny Peter :thumbsup2

Peter would be a good name :thumbsup2 Definitely not Pete for the super-cute, cuddly warm fuzzyball :rotfl:

Hi Karen. :wave2:
This is why I always have some bamboo skewers out back around the grill. You never know when you'll need them for "Bunny - on - a - stick". :yay:

:sad2:

Aw, I  widdle bunny wabbits! They taste like chicken! :rolleyes1

:scared: :scared1: :faint:

As adventurous as my palate is, I can never bring myself to order it :guilty:

You'll never believe this, but 2 minutes after you left yesterday, the rabbits came out in my front yard. It was so funny, I guess they were hiding with all of the commotion that was going on and as soon as the coast was clear, they came out

smart bunny - I'd run away from George too - even if he is TMIMitW! ;) :rotfl:

Off to see Ironman 2 tonite...finally! :3dglasses

cheers,
:flower3:

:wave2:

I am now being coerced from several fronts regarding attending the Hershey meet in August. :) I think all of the coercers (is that a word) should also come to the Indy meet in return. Only fair - right?

:confused3 why are people incapable of cleaning  I bet they don't treat their homes like that! Can you bring in your own toaster? I know here things have to be tested to make sure they won't blow up when they get plugged in

Yeah I don't see Pete as a bunny name :goodvibes

Enjoy the movie :3dglasses

Awww, hope you're not intending to eat them too :scared:

No! I would never eat the bunnies - they are too cute! Plus, they are wild, so it would be very difficult to catch them, they run away sooo fast!

The bunnies stayed far away when the BBQ was on, lol!

Actually, the subject was brought up on Sunday of renting a party bus and picking up families along the way to go to Indy... Logistically, I don't know how it would work out, but it was a crazy idea thrown out there!

Wouldn't it be great if they came to the Indy meet. They are all welcome to come for sure. Just sayin' :). And by the way...I'm kicking around the idea of having Hersehy bars in August as well. Just "kickin" the idea, mind you. :) Anna's first day of school is August 11th (too darn early in my opinion) so I'm not sure how responsible of a parent I would be driving her 18 hours, going to an amusement park, and hanging out with my friends when she'll have a load of homework to turn-in on Monday. :rolleyes1

August 11th?!?!?!?! Holy canoli, that's still in the middle of summer! Don't kids get a summer break anymore?:confused3

I yell, gripe, and curse (in Italian, of course) every year knowing they have to go back to school in the middle of August. It does no good because the school board members don't understand Italian at all. :rotfl: They just give me strange looks.

Wow, August 11th, that's rough. My kids don't start school until September 8th, I believe. But, the last day of school for my kids is June 25th.

Maybe she won't have that much homework the first week of school?

I used to work at a place that had a distinctive sign over the kitchen sink, " Please clean up after yourself - your Mother does not work here!"

Our last day of school is May 27th; next week in fact. It's just a matter of how the school board and State Superintedent believe the calendar should run.

The trend over the past few years has been homework the first weekend. I always thought it was crazy to have a lot of homework the first weekend, but apparently they want to shock the kids into submission and prepare them for the year ahead.

Kim and I are still kicken it around. We've never been to Hershey, and for as much as we love theme/amusement parks, and our friends, of course it would be a wonderful trip.

But mine does....:laughing: However, she also taught me to be responsible and respectful and pick up after myself.

Good Morning!!! Happy Tuesday!! It's sunny here today.

It's going to be a great day!! I'm leaving early to go over to Disney tonight, meeting another Diser and her family for breakfast at Ohana tomorrow then to MK! :cool1: I'm calling in sick tomorrow, sssshhhh don't tell my boss. ;)

Our office building has 5 floors and there is a kitchen on all floors, they have someone cleaning up through out the day. We do have issues with people stealing food out of the fridge though.

We saw a bunny right next to our car as we were leaving! :thumbsup2

I saw a flat bunny under your tire as you left. :rotfl:

They have a fridge rule here at work. It has to be empty by Friday. Nothing, so soda, etc;, can be left over the weekend or it's thrown out. The rules don't really bother the clean people but they sure do bother the slobs. :rotfl2:

Have fun at IM2!

I can't believe anyone would do that Dodie. :rotfl:

I think it's the chocolate! ::yes::

Aaron that would be great if you could make it to Hershey! Woo hoo!

Ah just take her - there's plenty more homework she can do on weekends you don't have important stuff going on :rotfl:

Wow you guys get about a month longer than kids here - usually end of July until start of September - 6 weeks usually.

Our office building has 5 floors and there is a kitchen on all floors, they have someone cleaning up through out the day. We do have issues with people stealing food out of the fridge though.

I wouldn't want to eat someone elses food - you don't know where it's been

Emma's last day of school is June 1st, and she goes back August 18th. Insane!

We go back to school on the 18th as well.

I used to complain about what seems to be an earlier and earlier start of school but now that I have a high school student I actually understand the logic. In Maryland, in order to graduate, the students have to pass a number of high school exams. We have block schedules in high school which essentially is classes that last a semster. In order to make sure that students who take classes during the first semester have completed the work before the test date, the school counts backwards and starts school so that the semester is finished before the test. Has a logic to it but does not change the fact that my kids start school in the middle of August.

One of my collegues had to clean out the fridge at work - it never gets cleaned - I'm just glad it wasn't me ;)
