T&B - we always go without kids, because we don't have any :rotfl2:

There's something to be said for that! Not that I mind bringing my kids, especially since they like to do so much, but trips without them are fun, too.

I forgot if I mentioned it here, but a few nights ago I had a dream that I got good air fares to Orlando, so I got tickets for Jake and me (not unheard of :rolleyes1 ). But we were on the plane, and it was this time of the year, and I realized that I hadn't made hotel arrangements. :scared1:

We are in the opposite boat (is that a phrase? :teeth: - the CB police are coming to take me away!) We have deposits on three separate weeks from sept to october; but no plane tickets!! We can't decide what we want to do...

My kids would kill me if I went to Orlando without them. However, it looks like DH has a conference in ORLando in November. Maybe we can swing a couple-only trip (not if I am working of course).

I haven't had a kid-less trip in 13 years.

BOMB, yes, camera...bras? extra pair of shoes, just in case :lmao: undies unless you're pulling a teva and going commando.

Yes, I have bras, but I doubt I will wear one often. :yay:

OK, I am off. I will miss you all! :goodvibes I need this vacation. The move is coming up so fast. :guilty:

 :yay:

Dear god I hope the Tag Fairy DOESN'T read here. That coochie comment would be a most unfortunate tag :sad2:

I was accused last night of being self centered so:

Punkin: :cheer2: pixiedust: :cheer2: Hope you get the job. Hope the pantyhose worked in your favor!

T&B: How was your anniversary dinner?

Bmom: Enjoy your trip and pick up a few pairs of underpants to take to Froggy. That moose knuckle ain't purty. For that book I sincerely recommend Marley and Me. You'll LOVE it.

Hey all!
I have got to get a life. I'm feeling a little jealous over everyones upcoming trips, I feel like a three year old that didnt get what they wanted from Santa. Heck, I'm so bored I'm even jealous of Shug's trip to GYN on Friday :rotfl: . The dentist went alright, the shot to numb the jaw and gum is finally wearing off and I'm not drooling on myself anymore- so I would consider it a sucessful day :rotfl2: . My birthday is on the 26th, but we are celebrating on Sunday because of the big soccer game and other fun adventures that have nothing to do with my birthday.
T&B- I'm sorry that your DD is being a pain. I hope that your Anniversary is as magical as your wedding day. Throw on a white dress and a garter and you're ready to go :lmao: .
Briar- I so happy you're highlighted, pedicured, and waxed. I think that I've been getting the short end of the trip preparations around here- I always vaccum, clean the kitchen, and finish the laundry- none of this pedicure stuff that you speak of. Please have a wonderful and fun trip. Say hi to Froggy for me.
Miss Jasmine- Has work slowed done a little or is it still crazy?
bigmerle1966- Isn't the few days before a big trip the slowest. I always feel like a kid waiting for school to get out when I'm counting down the days before a trip.
ANGEL- Tell me about something exciting that's going on with you.
punkin and iamsorry- Hi! How are you doing?
Teva- I missed you the first time around. How long is your trip for?

Just trying to catch up here - this STUCK OUT and called to me! I have also been going about trip preparing all wrong!!!!!!!!!!

I was accused last night of being self centered so:

Who accused you of being self centered? :furious:

I would love it if you got that tag!!! :rotfl2:

The doctor's office just called--my bloodwork came back fine, my mono test was negative, but the 48 hour strep culture was positive. So, that explains things. I did not think that would be the case. Sure wasn't the same as when I had strep before (about 3-4 years ago was the only time), but I guess it can differ from time to time. Up until that time, none of us had ever gotten strep. And only Jake has had it since then. Oh, and today I woke up with my throat starting to hurt again.

I am glad that I don't have mono! That I don't need to pass to everyone else. Strep is easy to get over at least (as long as a person knows they have it... ).

I am glad you don't have mono too, but be careful with the strep. Last time I got it, my doctor insisted that the whole family be tested to make sure they were OK even tho none of them had any symptoms. It may be a good idea to get a culture for everybody before school starts.

Well, I can't tell you but his initials are D.H. It was rather like the pot calling the kettle black.

That's what I figured... he'd better watch it or we'll take care of him. :teeth:

punkin, I wish that my quick strep test came back positive and not the 48 hour test, because my DD had her physical yesterday and they could have tested her then before she goes back to college. I'm not as worried about the others (unless as you say they are carriers without symptoms--guess I have to think about that possibility), but I worry that she will go to college and get sick. At least she didn't go on vacation with us and share the drinks right before I got sick like the rest of the family did. We've done that before and they haven't gotten sick, though. I'll be watching Jake closest.

We got the teacher postcard yesterday. Jake got the only first grade teacher that I know--a teacher that used to teach kindergarten. My oldest 2 had her for K and Zach would have, too, if he had of gone to our local school for K (he went to K where he went to preschool because I was going to have him do two years of K since he was young, but after one year he was ready to move to first grade). Anyway, I hope this teacher is ready for Jake.

That reminds me of when Alyssa's old 3rd grade teacher saw Aly in the hall when Ben was in 2nd grade and mentioned that she had a brother who was going into 3rd grade the following year. Aly had been a good, serious student and this teacher did end up with Ben. There are 4-5 classes at each grade, so not a high chance that a teacher will get a particular child and I wonder how much pull a teacher has. I wonder what she thought when she had Ben, who was (is?) Mr ADD, talkative, etc. Not Alyssa, by any means. As a teenager I think he's probably a more fun student since he participates and is active in the class and with the teacher, but in 3rd grade? :lmao: And then those that had Ben and then Zach probably wondered since Zach is so super serious. Thankfully not many are left to get Jake, who was the boss of his kindergarten class.

Hey everybody,

I've decided that today is the day to be feisty. I have offically declared this, "I'm not going to be nice and I'm not going to sweeet- so deal with it day. There will be a cermonial finger raising in a few hours. Quick post something so I can tell you duh :lmao: and to pull your head out :lmao: and then I'll post something and you can tell me the same thing. It will be fun, I promise. Speaking of finger raising, this news story is going on in our state right now. Cracks me up :rotfl: .
