Definitely looks like a boy pirate shooting to me Popstar. :thumbsup2

It's a sword..but at least you can tell a boy..Steph told me my DD was adorable earlier.:lmao: My son would not be happy.

If anyone is around...can you tell me if you can tell that the avatar picture is a boy dressed like a pirate or if it looks like a girl?

Be honest...I have another pic I could try too...otherwise..it's back to my old one until I can get DH to help me again.

I would guess boy from looking at it, PopRocks, but I couldn't be sure.

It's probably just because the picture has to be so small, but this one looks girlier than the pirate one to me. In that ChristopherRobinwithabowlcut kind of way.

Thanks....I am going to have to find a better pic...

Nope - do tell.

He plays alto saxophone. He's just been playing 5 months.

He had a quartet.........a piece by Prokofiev......

Then he had a solo, The Hunter's Chorus by Carl Maria Von Webber. He was upset because he missed a bridge or something in that one.

But when the scores were posted they were both scored I. :thumbsup2

That's fabulous, Paige! Sounds like you've got a musician on your hands. :cool1:

what is I?

Roman numeral 1. Highest rating. IV is the lowest.

He was saying he wasn't going to take band in 8th, just before we went to the competition, and I was telling him how good he was.......as all his teachers have told me he picks it up easily and well. He said if he got a IV he wouldn't take it in 8th grade. I said, "That's a deal, because you aren't getting a IV, you're far too good." After he got his I, he decided he would take it in 8th.

Right on. Those middle school years are a time when kids typically want to quit their instruments. Molly wanted to quit her violin lessons two or three times during those years, and we made her keep them up. We just kept using the old "Give it a little time before you make such a big decision" line, and she would get enthusiastic again after a bit, then the enthusiasm would wane and we'd do it over again. Eventually she stopped wanting to quit. :thumbsup2

His section teacher almost started to cry when I told her he didn't want to go on next year. She said "Oh he can't DO that! I'll talk to him. He HAS to keep going!"
