PM EMH drops from THREE Hours to TWO Hours

The CM's that work that late don't come in that day at 7am though. Its just a shift of shift work. Its when they come to work and find out that they have to work an extra hour with no advance notice that I feel sorry for them. When I checked in at OKW on June 27th, they told us that they'd gotten a bulletin that morning that MK would be open til 11 instead of 10. The printed weekly park Times Guides said 10. They changed it that morning.

I took a look at October... and most of November (except Thanksgiving week) and AK is only open until 5pm. Boy DTD Marketplace is sure going to be crowded when nobody has anywhere else to go.

I would feel less sorry for the CM's if it were a normal 5-day a week 3rd shift, but 1 day a week just seems more brutal.

This really is disappointing. As is, I've noticed that the last hour of EMH at Epcot already starts shutting down before the park closes. Charging more but getting less. That's what it sums up to be and I shudder what to think what all this will be in 5 years.

EMH was the prem-ear perk of staying onsite. Now that NexPass is coming, THAT will be the prem-ear perk.

When is that EMH reduction taking place again? Next January?

That's a good guess for when NexPass is going to roll out...
Maybe someone else can explain it to me, since I can't make the connection (and normally I'm good at this, even making connections where none exist!)

How does the next gen FPs (whatever they end up being called) relate to shrinking of EMH? If it's just 2 big announcements together, I get that, but beyond that seems like a stretch to me. Am I missing something here?

What is the new X Pass? Is there a post where I can read more about it?
Thanks

If resort guests can pre-schedule their FP times before arriving at the park, it may mean more to a resort guests average wait times more than using EMH.

Did not take Disney long, now that the crowds are coming back, to start putting the screws to us. First not only did they have a ridiculous price increase to AP's, they topped that by eliminating the cheaper childs pass so that we pay the adult price for a 3 year old:furious: Now they are cutting hours:furious::furious: We would always do the PM EMH and like PP have mentioned, the last hour is when the crowds really thinned out where you only had waits of a few minutes.
I can see going to 2 hours when the park closes at 11pm with EMH til 1am, but not when it's 9pm or less. Sorry just venting!

I have not had time to read this entire thread, however, this is extreamly frustrating! Ticket prices and room rates went up, however, they are taking away perks for staying onsite. Yes it is only an hour, but you can get a lot done in an hour. ell at least, you used to be able to.

When we were there in October, it was the first time since they did away with the wristbands, and there was a 70 minute wait for R&R and a 90 minute wait for TSM until 11. I don't know what it was after that because we left after riding TOT 3 times. I have a feeling there were alot of people there that weren't supposed to be. Although you had to show your room key, we only had our checked once, and that was when we were coming out of fantasmic around 930. It was never checked to get on a ride :(

No one knows. It might mean pre scheduled FP times, it might mean some anytime FP's it might just mean RFID tracks you everywhere.

This saddens me. Seems like every time I check DIS Boards and other forums, word is they are charging more and giving us less. What gives?

it seems like the good old days are slowing dwindling away

Not a happy Disney guest here,,We may have to look to staying over at
Universal Studios more often--atleast over there we have evening options,
DTD is pretty much a ghost town at 11pm.

Wake up Disney!!!!

Not saying I don't trust Robo and CF, but I called up WDW Guests Services to confirm and spoke to a women (god darnet; I can't remember her name). She said that there will be a change to Extra Magic Hours effective January 2013.

I asked, specifically about the cutback, and she said that she cannot comment on specifics, so that is, in corporate language a "yes."

Going to do a bit more investigating and write a blog on this. Stay tuned.

Guest Services is notoriously wrong ~ about anything you ask them.

This makes me sad but my last day at Disney for 2012 is December 31! I need to catch a plane anyway! I hope they give us something else in return.

I agree. another example of paying more and getting less.
***sighs****

Definitely glad we are starting to spread our wings more.

I keep reading that those staying on-site feel with the reduction in EMH it will leave them with nothing to do in the evenings.

All I have to say is there is more to Orlando than just Disney World - you just need to venture outside the Disney bubble :confused3 ... you just might be surprised at what you find out there ;)

I have to say that Cheshire Figment is a pretty reliable source....he usually has the most up to date and accurate info there is.

You mean the good ole days when you had to pay for the E-ticket nights?
For me??? That would be a huge yes!!! I loved the E-Nights. You will find that a lot fewer people will actually pay for that perk. I guess we pretty much did pay for EMHs with increased room rates though. I would prefer to pay for E-Nights vs higher room rates.
