HI please could you help my wonderful husband :lovestruc has just booked a trip to wdw for us in december we have been before but always in July/Aug and off site this time we are staying at POR for seven nights arriving the 16th December i have soooo many questions so any help will be greatlyappreciated

1. What to pack what is the weather like(I live in the uk so have no idea its always cold here in december)

2. What should we see do we have booked tickets for MVMCP on 12/20 and dinner at CP for 4pm same day

3. What is POR like we are sharing a room there will be 5 of us DH ,DS13,DS11 and DS9 and me

please help as dont really know where to start everbody is sooo excited this will be our only chance to come at christmas so im trying not to forget anything :disrocks:

First of all, don't stress you are going to the World and you will have fun no matter what!

As for POR, you might be a little cramped in the room with 5 people, but the resort is gorgeous. Be sure to take the time one day just to walk around it and POFQ, they are both really well themed.

I have never been to MVMCP, so I can't help there.

You will be in Disney in the middle of December so you are going to have semi-warm days and cool nights. My suggestion would be to pack clothes you can layer. That way if you get too hot or cold you can add or pull off a layer.

Again, have fun and write a trip report when you get back! :Pinkbounc

The weather at that time of year is really unpredictable. It can be 75-80 1 day then 50 the next. The nights are almost always chilly. So, I'd pack alittle of everything.

As for POR-- be sure to check out the resorts board. You'll find lots of great info about your resort there.

I have not done MVMCP. There is however a great thread with tons of info stuck to the top of this page. I'd check it out.

We were there last year end of Nov/beginning of Dec. It was beautiful during the days 70-80s, but at night we wanted sweatshirts. I packed a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans for everyone plus shorts, etc--never wore the jeans.

MVMCP is wonderful! I wish I could tell you about the fireworks, but I was busy finding DS4 who got lost right before they started. Took 25 heart wrenching minutes to find him!

POR is great---the trundle bed for the 5th person is not huge and it's on the floor, basically, but it works.

Hope you have a great time! :paw:

I've never been around the holidays - but wouldn't Candlelight Processional and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on the same evening be a conflict?

I think the OP meant Crystal palace not Candlelight Processional :flower: ,which BTW would be a great thing to see. The other thing going on is the Osborne Lights over at MGM, which is a dazzling display but maybe a bit overdone these days. Still it is a must see if you like bright lights. World Showcase should have all the Christmas storytellers out so watch out for them, its really interesting how differently all the countries celebrate.
i would second the vote to take time out to look over some of the resort hotels for their decorations as well, really stunning. The weather? Well anything and everything goes, so layers are probably the order of the day so you can strip off as needed.

Have a great time and hope this helped,
Claire xx

Christmas is now our most favorite time to go. We'll be there the 16th too. The weather can be very hot or unbelievably cold. I bought a down coat with hood after one windy 30ish MVMCP. Usually though, it is in between. Sometimes it rains and is frigid. Bring things to keep you dry. We love MVMCP. Eating at 4 is a good idea. You can begin riding rides afterwards but be sure to be on main street for the snow. The candlelight processional at epcot is beautiful and there are santas in every country. The osborne lights are neat too at mgm. Catch the roasted chestnuts and decorations at GF and the sleigh ride and fireplace and huge tree at WL. You will love Christmas at DW!! :Pinkbounc

We have been several times during that time of year and have seen every kind of weather from shorts and tanks to coats and gloves. Just keep an eye on the extended forecast as it gets nearer, but pack some of everything just in case.

I second Fizz13 on the other things to see. We went last Christmas and enjoyed the Candlelight Processional and World Showcase Storytellers, and the lights at MGM. We arrived too late for MVMCP, though. We stayed at POR once and liked it very much, but found bus service very slow. We wore t-shirts with zip-off pants and sweatshirts over. I packed hats/earmuffs and gloves, and we did use them occasionally, otherwise we were comfortable with our legs zipped on and our sweatshirts when it was cold, and legs zipped off and t-shirts when warm. It was only warm enough to swim the first day we were there.

Edited to say, that pic in my siggie was taken on December 23rd........I wore jeans, the boys had their zipoffs. The little one still has legs on here, and older DS had already zipped them off. We'd all removed our sweatshirts. This was about 3 ish in the afternoon.
