We were at POR this past January during the marathon and wouldn't have even known the marathon was going on except for clusters of people at our resort in serious running attire. We didn't notice anything at the parks.

This will be our first trip during marathon weekend and that is what I've been hearing. I'm planning on just doing what we planned, except wait some extra time for the buses heading to the parks in the morning. I hope that works.
The parks were actually pretty empty that weekend. The only advice I'd give is if you are staying at a resort that has non-bus transport to at least one park, visit that park that day. For example, if you are staying at the BWI or the BC/YC go to either EPCOT or the Studios via boat or walking. Don't try to go to Animal Kingdom via bus.
The roads will be very packed. The runners will be on them for a while. Don't try to go to MK on Sunday morning unless you can get there without using the buses. The other three parks will be open while runners are going through but they mark off the sidewalks to separate the runners from the guests.
