Planning first trip to WDW..need info.

I'm planning our very first trip to WDW in May of 2010. Yea, I know its early I guess, but i'm a planning obsessed fool

What character meals do you consider a "do not miss"and where do i go to find out the prices of these? I want to be able to do at least one, possibly two, with my daughters. They will be 6 and 12 (my oldest is developmentally delayed/autistic, so she is more like a 8 year old) at the time of our trip.

Also the card for disabled, do you think this is worth getting? Like I said earlier, my oldest is mildly autistic, dev. delayed, other diagnosis as well.

You can go to allears.net and look under menus to read about all of the WDW Dining. We love CRT for character dining, and with two daughters they may love it as well.

As for the card, if your daughter needs a quite place to wait in line, then by all means pick one up. You know your daughter's need better than we do. You should probably look on the disABILITIES board for more information about rides and queues.

Hi! Best wishes for a ton of fun planning and a great trip! Two character meals I've really enjoyed are the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom and the Garden Grill at Epcot. I think character meals are terrific because the characters come to you instead of having to stand in line to see them.

We're taking our sons (ages 4 and 2) for the first time in 11 days! We're eating at almost all buffets for supper: Yak and Yeti (only because Tusker House is closed that night), Hollywood and Vine (though it's not a character meal at dinner), Garden Grill, and Crystal Palace. I find buffets are the way to go with little kids because you don't have to wait to order.

I don't know much about the card. I think it is done mostly at your discretion.

HOWEVER I can help you with character dining!

Ohana for breakfast is lots of fun. The characters are always great.

Chef Mickey has great atmosphere and is a classic. Mickey maffles anyone?

CRT is great. I like breakfast there just to see Cindy.]

Crystal Palace is the best place to see Winnie the Pooh characters. And it has a large variety of food.

Well, those are my tops. Good luck! Have lots of fun. And don't worry, when it comes to Disney I plan like crazy too.

We've done a couple of character breakfasts in our day, but I do like Chef Mickey best. My children on the other hand loved the buffet at Crystal Palace.

Apologies to Cindy, but the CRT folks seem to rush you in and rush you out. I admit my experience was a few years back, but it was enough of an annoyance for me not to return.

I have 4 different books I have bought to do research..lol. Planning is a big part of the fun to me, not to mention we will be in WDW on my 35th birthday (i'm a kid at heart)

The food at Donald's breakfast at Tusker House was very good. We had an 8:15 seating (before AK opened) and we were done in time for park opening.

We also love the Crystal Palace lunch (may do breakfast next year before the park opens).

I don't think Chef Mickey dinner food is that wonderful, but it's a fun time and we'll definitely do it again.
