Placing bottled LIQUIDS in your suitcase ?

Please help. I have not flown in 15 years.
We need to bring a few water bottles, suntan lotion, contact solution, etc. All liquid. All in a plastic bottle (container).

Best way to pack them ?
Should I zip-lock bag all the bottles ?
Checked luggage on planes - air pressure ok
for items in the suitcase ?

We leave next Friday, 6/21.
Please help I am sooo confused.
And I have to start packing

You will be fine putting your lbottles in ziploc bags.

My teen dd takes a ton of stuff with her on airplanes and has never had a problem with contact solutions, shampoos, etc bursting. .

We always pack some bottle pop and water, too. However, I would take your contact stuff with you in your carryon just in case your big luggage gets lost.

Mu hubby does the packing, and in addition to sealing bottles in Ziploc bags, he takes a small piece of plastic, puts in over the open mouth of the bottle, and then screws on the lid over the plastic. I'm not sure of the purpose, but in 22 Disney cruises we have never had a luggage leak yet!

The baggage holds on commercial airliners are pressurized so your bags are treated to the same pressurization that you are in the main cabin. You shouldn't have a problem with anything leaking in your suitcase due to depressurization. However, as you know bags do get tossed around, so the suggestions the other posters made are great. We always put liquid stuff like that in a zip lock just to make sure that if it does leak for some reason it doesn't mess up the clothes.

Good advice, but I would avoid carrying water or drinks that are not absolutely necessary (i.e. to use in flight) as this is extra weight that has to be schlepped around. Airport corridors going to the gates can be long.

The purpose of a small sheet of plastic film screwed between the bottle mouth and the cap is to make a tighter fit so the cap won't come loose as easily. But if not done right the plastic will pucker up and not be as leak tight.

We did this last year, had HUGE bottles of apple juice in suitcases, didn't even have them in bags or anything and had no problem!

One more vote for ziplock bags I put everything in them and even throw in a extra one just in case, they work great

Zip lock baggies!!!!

Use them in your carryon, too. I have had things in my carryon leak. Not a big deal if they are inside baggies.

The large ziplocks are also very useful once you get to the world. I always pack a few extra in my backpack.

we have gone to WDW 2 times so far, both times something has leaked. THANK GOD for ziplock!!

Definitely Zip Lock things, and keep in mind that not all Zip Locks are 100% leak free!

My hair conditioner always seems to ooze out. I do two things. First, I don't fill the bottle all the way, and then I squeeze it so that there's no extra air inside (room to expand). THen I put it in a Zip Lock.

I don't suggest packing water and such. If you do, be considerate to your feelows travelers and package it into large Hefty bags that you seal tight with packing tape. Surround this package with your clothes. That way if the water or soda leaks, it will be absorbed by your own stuff. I had a suitcase and clothing ruined by some boor who packed soda into a soft side suitcase (DUH!) it leaked all over in flight and ran down into my bag.
