Pizza Planet closing in January

Don't know where all the gloom and doom comes from. Am I the only one remembering a New Pizza Planet announced for Toy Story Land? This was back in the D23 announcement time. I can wait!

I don't think there's been an announcement from Disney about a new Pizza Planet for Toy Story Land -- just speculation from the fans.

You are right, couldn't find it where I thought it was, but still seems to be pictured in the Toy Story Land artwork, so we shall see!

We are HUGE Toy Story fans, and Pizza Planet was one of our biggest disappointments on our first visit to WDW this past July. Hopefully improvements are coming.

You are right, nobody will "starve" in a Disney Park; but I sure will leave this park famished if I had to eat CS in DHS. No way, no how will I eat anything in this park that is CS.

Pizza Planet used to be better themed with more games (several of "the claw" too) and character meet and greets. There used to be the pizza delivery truck out front too. My son is 23 now, but I took him for the first time when he was 4. He LOVED PP! He got to meet Buzz and Woody there. Over the years I noticed the changes, and last year thought it looked pretty "meh". I don't even remember when they got rid of the delivery truck!

As far as QS options at HS goes - we are always fine with it. Starring Rolls has great sandwiches and we do ok with burgers at Backlot Express. We don't eat many burgers at Disney, so eating one there doesn't kill us...

We love Pizza Planet, but I can see how some people think it's lame. I would love to see it resurrected in Toy Story land in full-out style. Seems like a no-brainer! Make a Pizza Planet like the real one in the movie!!!

....I'm glad to read this. I was getting mixed results when I searched on the web today. Some sites said it was permanently closing and others said it will reopen late 2016.

(On a slightly off topic side note...pizzas look to have slightly changed at Pizzafari and now come with an antipasto salad. Yuck. I hope we can request the old Caesar salad instead....)

I haven't found it in the artwork. There is nothing in the main rendering that looks like the "real" Pizza Planet. But of all themes for restaurants it makes sense.

In the live announcement no mention of eats or shopping in the new area.

As with all things Disney - no matter what the "in the know" folks say, the bloggers say or even what Disney says .... until it's in 3D and open for business it's all rumor.

The problem with putting Pizza Planet in Toy Story Land is that the theming doesn't work. If you are shrunk down to the size of a toy, so you can ride on Slinky Dog, then walking into a full size arcade doens't make sense. There are western themed buildings on the concept image, so maybe there could be Woody's Smokehouse or a similar concept. But PP in TSL wouldn't sit right.

I love that they are planning to make it a Muppet themed restaurant, what a great idea! I think the Muppets deserve some more representation in the parks.
