Pizza Planet closing in January

WDW News Today reporting it is closing January 11, 2016 and will reopen late 2016.

There's not going to be anything left to eat QS at HS. Not that Pizza Planet was anything to write home about it was better than the burgers found at the other locations. Not to mention Catering Co closing so early all the time. Maybe that will change?

Now they did it!

I kept supporting DHS while others complained about "everything" closing.

I actually enjoyed eating bad Disney pizza in Pizza Planet, because a place like Pizza Planet is supposed to have bad pizza.
(And the extra salt helps replenish the electrolytes you loose in the Fla heat)

I on the other hand think this is the BEST NEWS EVER no matter what they theme it! The food is gross, the decor does not match the movie, the location aka courtyard needs some cohesiveness and now if they truly want a PP, it can move to Toy Story Land (and hopefully build it to look right).

The building was not built to be a restaurant, it was originally a movie prop gallery ... then when that made no sense they just turned it into an arcade ... then when they needed more food - rather than put together a themed area, they jumped on the success of TS and threw together a "pizza" restaurant. They thought that gluing TS characters and toys all over the building it would work. It was lazy.

Yeah, it bothers me.

An adult is supposed to wonder why does this Pizza Planet exist? The games are lame, the food is terrible .... Toy Story never showed adults loving Pizza Planet.

- I can appreciate B movies if they entertain such as Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- I don't think B stands for bad, it's more about lower budgets.
- I can't appreciate bad food, especially when it's Disney scale prices.
- I find offense at bad pizza, won't eat frozen.
- I don't appreciate wrong decor, aka Rose Gallery in Be Our Guest, Pizza Planet.
- Do appreciate close to accurate decor, Ballroom Be Our Guest.
- Even my kids never liked DHS Pizza Planet decor .... because it was wrong.

But hey, if you are really lucky they will resurrect the Pizza Planet in Toy Story Land. Probably will if they end up bringing those carnival rides.

I'm probably pretty alone on this one but I actually really enjoy their veggie pizza. My kids just liked the fact that they were eating in "Pizza Planet".

I am REALLY sad about this! We were one of the few families that love Pizza Planet and looked forward to eating there every trip. I hope they are just updating it or something.

That is actually a blessing in disguise. This parks CS's are about as good and exciting as a food court in any shopping mall... Not very good.

Pizza Planet IMHO is perhaps one of the worst CS's in all of WDW. Since I'm just not very excited about "Tombstone" quality microwave pizza nor did I have a child that would only eat chicken nuggets, french fries, frozen pizza and hotdogs, my opinion is not very high for Pizza Planet and many other CS's. No attack on those who love Pizza Planet... To each their own.

We are going in Feb too! We will be going to DHS on our last day, late morning, primarily for TSM, Mama Melrose and F! to end our trip on. =)

We ate there for the first time 2 weeks ago for the first time. It wasn't great, but I'm glad we tried it before it closed.

Woohoo - February is just around the corner! We're planning on going to HS on arrival day. Hopefully get to the park around 2-3pm, ride a few things, QS meal, and F!. I thought about doing a TS+F! package but I didn't want to stress if we were running late.

Fun to see. I wouldn't waste a meal on it. It's worth it to be closed for refurbishment or replacement with something else in my opinion.

Basically we are all going to starve at HS next year unless we have a TS reservation booked.
