Pixie Hollow id Dead!!!!

Lee said Spaceship Earth would be "finished" and that the blue triangles were a precursor to something more grand. He has been wrong.

I agree.

Lee is indeed wrong pretty much all the time. I don't think he's really an insider at all--just another overly-negative fanboy that takes delight in bashing and speaking without thinking.

I don't think Jim Hill is all that reliable.

Don't believe anything you read on Jim Hill. He claims to have the inside track to Disney, but most of the things he posts never comes to fruition. When he is close, he is still so far off you can tell he was not in-the-know from the beginning.

I really don't care too much if it happens or not. But I hope Toontown stays open till we get there again! LOL! I accidentally mentioned to my DD last night that it probably won't be there next trip and she started crying. She is worried where Mickey and Minnie will live and she LOVES to visit there houses. I should've videod it and sent it to Disney. LOL

He was right TDO didn't spend the $$$$$ I have seen the plans for SSE.

I've seen the plans for an elaborate puppet show in the Morocco pavilion based on Aladdin. I've seen the plans to retheme Wonders of Life to the Toy Story franchise. I've seen detail blueprints of the Swiss pavilion.

Plans don't mean jack. WDI is full of plans that will never see the light of day.

When SSE opened they considered it finished.

I actually prefer screamscape to Jim Hill. I really don't ever go to jim hills website as I don't like the articles and find some to be false anyway.

I still don't know why they don't open up the Skyway to a Tink exhibit due to it's proximity to the Peter Pan ride. I have to agree I think the Fantasyland renov is way to princess heavy. What kid really knows who the heck Dumbo is and now there's going to be a land? They always seem to be 5 years too late. Look at Kim Possible at Epcot - what kid watches Kim now?? She's on at 10pm and the kids who did watch her are preteens and aren't interested anymore. They're watching Wizards of Wavery Place, where's that merchandise?? Could compete with Potter. Where's Fineas and Pherb's world? They live in some fantasy summer vacation that's 108 days long. :confused3

Epcot - how about some countries that people are interested in - Antartica, Iraq, Turkey, Russia - where's the attraction and educational stuff and not just the merchandise!

Who's interested in Iraq or Antarctica? I could see maybe Turkey or Russia, but I don't see the draw. The problem with going with one of Phineas and Ferb or Wizards is it's a TV show. TV shows don't last and aren't like movies where they're around for quite some time. Look at the successful rides and attractions and I'd venture to guess most are movies.

A) Imagineering denied EO was returning.

B) Scaled back means budget cuts and removals. As far as anyone has said, it's being redesigned which is not scaling back.

It does help to ask the powers-that-be the right questions.

Didn't you start this thread saying PH has been removed?

No, i didn't - but the truth is that they're redesigning. The same budget exists as always, nothing has changed in the money, so everything that was approved is still approved.

Pixie Hollow was never approved for construction.

I am just a happy little camper when I have the chance to visit WDW and so is my DS (who will be 10 next month) & DH. We tell WDW to "surprise us" We won't complain because we are having fun:thumbsup2 I don't care what they put in the old Skyway. If it doesn't stay dark and lonely up there, any idea will be great!

:cloud9:Very Happy to be attending our first MVMCP party in Nov.:lovestruc

I have a question......I understand the whole Princess girly thing, but it's really only in Fantasyland...which, lends itself to princesses and castles and that kind of stuff. I've truly never understood the "Disney is all for girls" thing. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like there is alot of stuff for boys too, maybe not in Fanstasyland, but just about everywhere else. I agree that Frontierland could use some love, but there is "boy'" stuff over there and in Adventureland too. The whole Pirates thing is a boy area IMHO. Liberty Square isn't boy or girl and then in the other parks, I think of DHS as being mostly boy stuff and Animal Kingdom and Epcot being good for both girls and boys. :confused3

I think the princesses stand out because of the merchandise and I think that's because people just naturally buy more stuff for little girls so it sells better and since it sells more, there is more of it. Look at the Pirate make-over place, it just isn't doing all that well....because boys and dress-up just don't really go together and boys just aren't as interested in getting made up as little girls. Last time I was at World of Disney in DTD, the boy area had people in it, but the girl/princess area was PACKED. I know when I take my nieces to Disney I could sell my house and still not have enough money, but my nephew? Yea, he gets a few things, but he isn't nearly as interested in shopping so the boy bill is alot lower. In the end, to me, it makes sense to stock what sells. :confused3

All that being said, I wasn't wild about the FLE expansion either. I didn't like the individual Princess meet areas and was hoping for more rides anyway. I think the Ariel ride is great and I will be first in line for Be Our Guest, but other than that I wasn't impressed with the plans. It wasn't because of it being Princesses though, really it was more that I thought Disney could do better.

The vast majority of recent branding has been girl centric - The fairies and The princesses. Further, and this is the source of the reputation, most of Disney channel is tween girl focused. Hannah Montana, That's so raven, witches of waverly place, many of the cartoons... there are a TON. A large majority of Disney Channels audience is girls.

Sorry, but that is not correct either. Lee has been wrong on several things before. Go back and look at the history. ;)

Wrong work was started I have been behind those black curtains. Also Lee is my source from WDWmagic since you brought that terrible site up also Martin. I haven't posted there in over a year so I guess they really aren't sources anymore. Mine actually work for the company like I do.

Is this the same Merf that was banned from WDWMagic?
